Somewhere in Curaçao tonight, a parent isn't choosing between work and their child. Tuma Mi Man made sure of that.

Day care from six weeks old. Preschool. After-school support through primary. Fully funded; no discount, no fine print for 25 kids whose families couldn't otherwise afford a spot. A parent keeps their job. A child gets a safe, structured place to grow. Neither one has to happen at the other's expense.

For some students, the hardest part of DLCC isn't the training. It's just getting there.

Picture the choice: a rural village, a training center hours away, and no safe place to stay near it. So a qualified student says no. Not because they lack the skill. Because the geography said no first.

We're building fifty beds to change that answer. A safe place to sleep, study, and stay close to the kitchen that could change their family's whole trajectory.

Give a kid a pile of sticks and stones with no instructions, and watch what happens.

That's Loose Parts Play, the idea behind The Opentree Foundation's new platform, Playpedia. No "right" way to build it. Just a group of kids figuring out how to cooperate, argue, and solve a problem together, one imaginary bridge or fort or spaceship at a time.

600+ teachers have been trained to run sessions like this across Maharashtra. Every session, a kid quietly builds confidence a worksheet never could.

Ask the people of Rizal, Palawan what AmiForest actually changed, and it's not the trees they mention first. It's who got asked before anything got planted.

Every palm went in only after Free and Prior Informed Consent from the Indigenous community on that land. Every harvest gets reinvested into planting more; income that stays local, decisions that stay local.

The palms live 25 years, pulling carbon out of the air the whole time. But the real return is a community with more say over its own land, not less.

AmiForest grows and protects coconut palms in Palawan, Philippines - around 1,400 of them, soaking up roughly 540 tonnes of COâ‚‚ a year. Grown on Indigenous land, with consent by the people who live there and every harvest funds the next round of planting.
