Triple Double Basketball Academy provides skill development in all aspects of the global game of basketball.

All ages and skill level are invited to join our academy as we guarantee to improve all aspects of your game in a fun and engaging environment. Founded by local Hong Kong basketball stars Duncan Reid & Nathan Yu, Triple Double Basketball Academy was created to bring high level basketball training to all players striving to improve all aspects of their game. Whether you want to improve passing, shooting, rebounding, ball-handling, or defence, Triple Double provides coaching from all positions of basketball to help develop your skills. At TDBA, our teaching philosophy remains consistent, ensuring you can learn every detail in depth.
Our coaching team insists on personally guiding each player, which is what sets us apart. Through personalized teaching methods, we ensure every student masters solid fundamentals.
This video shows our students learning the crucial “one-on-one defense” technique in basketball. This man-to-man defense is the cornerstone of basketball defensive systems, where each defensive player is responsible for closely guarding an offensive player, with the goal of effectively preventing the opponent’s dribbling, passing, shooting, and receiving the ball, thereby disrupting the opponent’s scoring.
At TDBA, we believe that solid fundamentals are a necessary condition for advancing basketball skills. Only by mastering these details can players demonstrate their true abilities in games.

At TDBA, our coaching team has personally experienced the complete journey from youth to college basketball. We don’t just teach basketball—we guide students on how to achieve life goals through the sport.

Every young player faces specific challenges and pressures during their development—technical plateaus, game anxiety, time management, balancing academics and athletics. These are precisely the obstacles our coaching team has personally experienced and successfully overcome.

It’s this experiential resonance that enables us to provide more targeted, insightful guidance. We don’t just teach “how to do it,” but explain “why it matters,” helping each player achieve excellence both on and off the court.

Introducing Nathan Yu, Director at Triple Double Basketball Academy with international basketball credentials! Specializes in developing players’ ball-handling and shooting fundamentals while fostering a competitive training environment.
Originally from Canada, Nathan brings world-class experience to Hong Kong basketball:

• Current: Assistant coach for Winling Basketball Club
• 3 x Hong Kong Divison 1 champion
• Captain of Team Canada’s University National Team (2011)
• Silver Medalist at 2011 FISU Games in Shenzhen
• 1st Team Canada West All-Star (2012)
• Silver medal at Canadian University Championships with UBC(2009/2010)
• Led SCAA to a PERFECT 21-0 season in 2017

Meet Duncan Reid - Director at Triple Double Basketball Academy and a true Hong Kong basketball legend! The FIRST Hong Kong player to play professionally in 3 countries, Hong Kong, China (CBA) and the Philippines (PBA).

Born and raised in Sai Kung, Duncan’s journey from local courts to international arenas makes him the perfect mentor for aspiring ballers!

His impressive resume includes: 
• Captain of the Hong Kong National Team since 2015
• First Hong Kong player to be selected to the CBA all rookie game
• PBA 2023 Commissioner’s Cup Runner up 
• 2x Hong Kong Division 1 MVP 
• 5x Hong Kong Division 1 Champion with SCAA 
• Basketball scholarship at Guelph University (Canada)

TDBA is excited to announce the partnership with CBG .cbg in our upcoming season as he will be forming teams to join the HKJBL with the TD coaching Staff. Coach Kit is well respected in the Hong Kong basketball community and we’re so excited to be trying to improve Hong Kong basketball with our youth basketball teams. We will be joining the Hong Kong Junior Basketball League for the 2025 fall season starting in September. DM us if you have any interest or questions in joining one of our U10, U12, U14 , and U16 teams!
