This man-to-man defense is the cornerstone of basketball defensive systems, where each defensive player is responsible for closely guarding an offensive player, with the goal of effectively preventing the opponent’s dribbling, passing, shooting, and receiving the ball, thereby disrupting the opponent’s scoring.
