Nepal is facing a major flash-flood disaster that has caused significant loss of life, displacement, and damage to homes, roads, bridges, hydropower facilities, and other critical infrastructure. The disaster, which began on August 26 in the northern border areas, has particularly affected communities in Rasuwa and Nuwakot and areas along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river systems. As search, rescue, and assessment efforts continue, the full extent of the damage and the number of people affected are still being assessed. The videos shared below provide a visual overview of the affected areas and the challenges communities are currently facing, helping to demonstrate the urgency of the situation and the need for immediate humanitarian support.

Due to Right4Childrenโs successful passed emergency relief efforts and interventions during the earthquakes of 2015 and flooding in previous years, the government has again reached out to us to support relief aid efforts. They have asked us to raise funds and ask our current funding partners permission to divert 5%-10% of our current project funding to the victims and rebuild of affected areas.
Right4Children aims to contribute to the emergency response by coordinating carefully with the local government and community representatives (liaison currently underway to avoid duplication) providing essential drinking water, food, tents, medicine packages and other basic relief supplies to vulnerable children, families, and communities affected by the floods. We will work in coordination with local authorities, community representatives, and relevant response partners to identify priority needs and ensure that assistance reaches those most affected. Your support can make a meaningful difference in helping vulnerable families meet their immediate needs and begin recovering from this devastating disaster.
