Evergreen urgently needs a foster! Please share 🙏🏻🥹

It’s a tough reality that many people immediately gravitate towards puppies, often overlooking amazing dogs like Evergreen. As our longest resident at Tails, she’s been waiting for a forever home for four long years, and it breaks our hearts to see her passed by time and again.

Now, due to unforeseen circumstances with her long-time foster, she needs a new place to stay by this weekend or she’ll have nowhere to go. Evergreen is a calm, gentle, and sweet girl who has so much love to give, and she deserves a chance just as much as any other pup.

Her Relationship Status:
* With Her Humans: Incredibly friendly, deeply affectionate, and fiercely social.
* With Strangers: She operates on an “Exclusive VIP Club” policy. New people scare her at first. She needs an adopter who understands that true love takes a little patience.
* With Other Cats: She can be a bit picky but she previously formed a beautiful bond with an older female cat. She would likely do best as an only cat, or potentially with a calm, older female feline companion.

Please share! We’re in a tough spot and really need your help🙏 Every day, we get heartbreaking messages asking if we can help take in an animal in need, but too often, we have to say no. Just yesterday, we heard about two stray puppies and another pup stuck in the AFCD kennels, waiting for someone to step in.

Right now, we have 4 lovable dogs that desperately need fosters before we can take in any new ones. Without foster homes, these dogs have nowhere to go, and without more people stepping up, we can’t rescue these stray puppies and give them the safe haven they deserve.

Fostering isn’t just about providing a temporary space; it’s about giving these dogs a chance at a better life. Every little bit helps, and your support could change their lives forever.

We’ve got an update on this super adorable little guy! After searching high and low for his owner, it looks like Goober was likely abandoned as no one has come forward for him😢 But don’t worry, he’s now officially part of the TAILS family and soaking up all the love in his foster home!

Goober is estimated around 4-5 months old and full of puppy energy! He’s been to the vet, is healthy, and has a hearty appetite. Plus, he’s just too gorgeous for words! 😍

There’s just one problem….we can’t quite figure out which spaniel breed he is! 🧐 Is he one of the Spaniels on the second slide, or is he a mix of all of them? We need your help! Comment below with your guess and help us solve the mystery of Goober’s lineage!🤗

Do you have 5 minutes to help Sai Kung Stray Friends Foundation?

The stress of running an animal rescue charity is immense and hits you every single day; what will happen to all the animals under our care, how to look after them all, how to pay the vet bills, how to get more funding, how to find more adopters, how to find more volunteers etc. etc. etc. To have this further compounded by the fact that the Government wants to rezone your land and you may lose half of what you’ve spent years and years building up, in the blink of an eyelid, is even more terrifying.

We ask for support for TAILS for various reasons and are lucky to get it from our amazing community and followers, but occasionally it’s great if we can also stand together to support other charities too. In the end we’re all working towards the same goal anyway, to help save more animals in Hong Kong.

🐾 Lost Puppy Found in Mui Wo - Do You Recognise Her? 🐾

Another week, another lost puppy in Mui Wo 😢

Thank you to the residents who alerted us to this poor girl spotted running around in the car park of a residential complex, trying to take shelter from the rain and hiding in the bushes. Our volunteers were able to safely get her into a crate and into a home for the night.

This poor girl is estimated to be around 3 months old, has likely been outside for a while, as she has a few cuts on her and is very skinny. We’re not sure if she belongs to anyone or if she’s a stray, but either way she was very much in need of rescuing and absolutely terrified when found. It took a couple of hours of sitting with her, gently trying to approach her and gain her trust before being able to get her into the crate.

Thank you to our amazing foster who stepped in at extremely short notice to welcome them into their home to take shelter. We really couldn’t do any of this without people like them stepping in to help 🙏🏽💞

This little girl will have a few days to rest and be fattened up, before hopefully allowing the foster to clean her up and get her to the vet’s for a checkup.

She’s a very sweet girl, but understandably terrified and taking her time to settle. She will need lots of love and patience and ideally a calm home to be fostered in more long term soon to help her recover. If you think you can help, please reach out 🫶🏼

This very good boy 🧡 needs your help! The reality of a foster-based rescue means that sometimes our dogs, like Reese, urgently need fosters due to unforeseen circumstances.

As a foster-based rescue, TAILS relies on amazing people like you to help dogs grow up in loving homes instead of kennels.

Fostering Reese isn’t a lifelong commitment (unless you want it to be!👀), it’s a short chapter that can change everything for him. You provide the love, and we cover all vet care and support. Even if you’re a first-time foster, we’re here to make sure it’s the best experience for both of you.
