Samson 擔任樂餉社義工已有數年時間。不論是倉庫食物分類及包裝，還是流動食物車項目，他都積極參與，貢獻良多。退休後的他選擇投身公益，將時間轉化為關懷，幫助社會上的弱勢群體。

Samson表示：「參與義工服務讓我感到充實及滿足，因為我知道自己的每一份努力，都能真切地為社會帶來改變。」

最讓他感到溫暖的是什麼？是親眼見證社會各界的善心。他憶起大埔火災發生時，大批市民自發前來幫忙，這讓他深切感受到香港是一個充滿愛的城市。

Samson 深信，食物與資源不應被浪費，而應送到最需要的人手中。這份信念，正是他長期支持樂餉社的動力。

💛 Meet Samson – one of our incredible Feeding Hong Kong volunteers.

For several years, he’s been rolling up his sleeves for our Warehouse Workout and Mobile Food Pantry programmes. Since retiring, he wanted to use his time wisely – to give back and help those in need.

“Volunteering gives me a deep sense of fulfilment,” he says. “Knowing that what I’m doing can truly make a difference.”

What warms his heart? Seeing how many people are willing to share their kindness. He recalls the Tai Po fire – so many came forward to help, and it reminded him what a loving city Hong Kong really is.

Samson also believes food and resources shouldn’t go to waste – they belong in the hands of those who need them most. That’s why our mission means so much to him.

Thank you, Samson. You’re why we do what we do. 🙌

我們將食物帶到香港各區的屋邨，由當區的慈善機構協助，將食物送到最有需要的家庭手上。他們可以領取到均衡營養的食物——例如新鮮蔬菜、水果、魚類、肉類和主食。

這也是我們其中一個最開心的義工活動：

We take our food to housing estates across Hong Kong, and local charities help us get it to families who need it most. They can pick up balanced, nourishing food - think fresh veg, fruit, fish, meat and staples.

我們很榮幸能親自感謝這些忠實且長期的合作夥伴，他們與我們秉持著共同信念。這些捐贈包括營養豐富的主食和新鮮食材，如水果、蔬菜、肉類、魚類等，還有深受社區大眾喜愛的驚喜小食。

這些捐贈合共提供了超過 280 萬餐膳食，並減少了 220 萬公噸二氧化碳排放到大氣中。

In the last year, our top 30 food partners between them donated more than 1,160 tonnes of food for us to share with the local communities. That’s the equivalent of 4 fully loaded Boeing 747 cargo planes!

It has been our pleasure to personally thank these loyal, long-term food companies who share our mission to feed people, not landfills. These donations include wholesome staple and fresh foods, including fruit, veg, meat, fish and more, as well as surprise treats which our communities love.

Together, these donations have supported over 2.8 million meals and have saved 2.2 million tonnes CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

There‘s no turbulence here — just teamwork, trust and tonnes of good food. Thank you for flying with us!

Why canned foods? They’re long-lasting, nourishing, and help create balanced meals for vulnerable families.

隨著香港天氣越來越熱，蚊子不單是令人困擾，對於居住在舊樓或缺乏冷氣設備的家庭來說，更是實實在在的健康威脅。

所以，當我們收到 SC Johnson 捐贈的8,880 個拜高液體電驅蚊機時，這份心意對許多家庭而言，是真正的「及時雨」。我們的慈善夥伴在收到物資時都十分高興。

為甚麼驅蚊產品如此受歡迎？因為這類產品在捐贈物資中非常罕見，卻是基層家庭的需要。隨著氣溫上升，蚊叮蟲咬導致皮膚不適，甚至對登革熱的擔憂也隨之增加。

在樂餉社，我們相信尊嚴不只來自食物。個人護理用品，如蚊怕水、肥皂、衛生用品，同樣重要。

Not every essential comes in a bag of rice!

With Hong Kong’s weather heating up, mosquitoes aren‘t just annoying — they’re a health risk, especially for families living in older housing or without air conditioning.

That’s why a recent donation of BAYGON Liquid Electric Vaporizer Starter Set from SC Johnson was such a welcome surprise. We received 8,880 units — and our charity partners couldn‘t be happier.

Why the great feedback? Because repellent is rarely donated, but desperately needed. As temperatures rise, so do cases of bites, irritation, and concerns about dengue.

At Feeding Hong Kong, we believe dignity means more than food. Personal care items like repellent, soap, and sanitary products are just as vital.

驚喜食物帶來樂趣，但基本糧食才是生存的根本。

在樂餉社，每個早晨都像在打開禮物—麵包、雪糕、餃子… … 你永遠不知道會迎來休麼驚喜。我們很喜歡這份不可預知性，但單靠拯救剩食，往往難以達成長期的營養均衡。

因此，我們推出了「有營食物援助計劃」，主動採購米、油、意粉、蔬菜及蛋白質食材，補足那些無法穩定從捐贈中獲得的物資。這些基本食物，正好與我們的「驚喜食物鏈」完美互補。

以慈雲山的好鄰舍義工隊為例，自 2016 年起，他們已從我們這裡接收超過 32 噸食物。蔬菜、肉類、米和油等基本糧食，幫助無數低收入家庭度過難關。正如他們所說：「這些食物支援，不僅滿足了營養需要，也守護了他們的心靈健康。」

還有大圍和馬鞍山的共享食物基金，至今已分享超過 71 噸優質食物，其中一次的雪糕驚喜更是令人難忘。雪糕雖非生活必需，卻為受惠者帶來了純粹的快樂，每一口都充滿笑意。

正如慈善機構合作夥伴所言：「與樂餉社攜手，我們把剩食從浪費轉化為祝福，陪伴街坊從困境走向幸福。」

Surprise foods are fun. Staples are survival.

Every morning at Feeding Hong Kong is like opening a gift — bread, ice cream, dumplings. We love the unpredictability. But rescue alone doesn’t always mean balanced meals.

That’s why we launched the Essentials Programme — to buy rice, oil, pasta, veg, and protein we can’t reliably rescue. These staples pair perfectly with our rescued “surprise chain.”

Take Good Neighbourhood Volunteers in Tsz Wan Shan. Since 2016, they’ve received over 32 tonnes of food from us. Essentials like veg, meat, rice, and oil help low-income families through hard times. As they put it: “These deliveries support both nutritional needs and emotional wellbeing.”

Or Food Common in Tai Wai and Ma On Shan — over 71,000 kg of quality food shared, including one unforgettable ice cream surprise. Not an “essential,” but their beneficiaries loved every spoonful.

Their words say it best: “Together with Feeding Hong Kong, we transform food from waste into blessings, helping our neighbours move from hardship to happiness.”

我們最喜歡突如其來的驚喜，尤其是這份別具意義的禮物！最近，我們收到來自必宜達有限公司慷慨捐贈的一批牛奶。

牛奶可說是營養寶庫，富含鈣質、蛋白質及維他命 D 和 B12 等重要營養素，對於面臨食物不穩定的兒童、家庭及長者來說，牛奶是非常關鍵的營養來源。牛奶是食物銀行最渴求的物資之一，卻鮮少有大批量的捐贈，因此這份禮物格外珍貴，用途也非常廣泛！

牛奶既可直接飲用，也能加入熱飲，或用於烹調湯品、粥類及烘焙食品等營養佳餚。小小的一盒牛奶，既能幫助家庭節省伙食開支，也能提升菜餚的營養價值。

衷心感謝各位捐助者，讓我們能夠持續提供營養、美味又窩心的食物。

We love it when a surprise delivery turns out to be something truly special.

We recently received a generous, unexpected gift of milk from the Food Branch - Beata Corporation Limited and our partner charities are over the moon. Milk isn‘t just for cereal (though that’s a win). It‘s packed with protein, calcium, and vitamins, and you can drink it, cook with it, or pour it into just about anything to make a meal more nutritious.
