It has been one month since a series of devastating earthquakes struck northern Venezuela.
Although the tremors have stopped, the needs of displaced children and families remain urgent. Thanks to the swift generosity of our supporters, UNICEF teams have been on the ground since day one, delivering lifesaving assistance:
💧 Safe water and hygiene supplies for more than 29,000 people
🏥 Essential healthcare and vaccinations for more than 21,000 people
📦 Over 82 metric tonnes of emergency medical and shelter supplies delivered
🧸 Child-friendly spaces helping more than 4,000 children play, learn and regain a sense of safety
Yet the road to recovery remains long. Hundreds of buildings have collapsed, schools and hospitals have been severely damaged, and children in affected communities remain extremely vulnerable.
Even after the emergency fades from the headlines, children will continue to need our support. Become a UNICEF monthly donor today and give children the reliable, ongoing help they need to recover, rebuild their lives and look towards the future. 💙
