現代化協會全名為促進現代化專業人士協會，自1979年由廖瑤珠律師帶領下成立。
七十年代末的中國百業待興，香港一班來自法律、會計、工程、測量等界別的專業人士在廖瑤珠律師牽頭下，組成促進現代化專業人士協會，決意協助祖國走上現代化之路。
