為實踐居家安老,照顧者扮演著重要的角色。他們在照顧歷程中面對各種挑戰和壓力。為推動照顧者支援及服務發展,香港賽馬會慈善信託基金撥款逾2億9,000萬港元策劃和捐助「賽馬會護老導航照顧者支援計劃」(下稱「計劃」),為照顧者提供及時和適切的支援。 計劃於2023年開展,於多區設立以照顧者為本的支援中心,可五年內服務逾29,000 名照顧者和13,000 名有需要長者,同時提升社區人士對照顧者的關注,推動照顧者友善社區。計劃合作夥伴包括香港大學秀圃老年研究中心、香港明愛、基督教香港信義會社會服務部、香港婦女中心協會、香港聖公會麥理浩夫人中心、香港基督教女青年會和東華三院。

Carers play an important role in supporting ageing in place. To promote the development of carer support and services, The Hong Kong Charities Trust has initiated and funded the Jockey Club Carer Space Project (the “Project”). The Project, with an approved funding of over HK$290 million, adopts a carer-centric approach to provide and connect carers to timely and appropriate services. Launched in 2023, the Project establishes carer-centric service centres in different districts to serving more than 29,000 carers and 13,000 older adults with care needs in 5 years, while increasing public awareness on carers’ needs and promoting a carer-friendly community. Project partners include Sau Po Centre on Ageing of The University of Hong Kong, Caritas Hong Kong, Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service– Hong Kong, Hong Kong Federation of Women’s Centres, Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Lady MacLehose Centre, Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.
