The Chairman of ACEHK, Ir. Francis Yau, was very pleased to be speaking at an International Forum for Digital Smart City at Shanghai organised by 上海市城市科學硏究會（Shanghai Society For Urban Studies）on 30th October 2025. Co-organizations including Zhejiang Society for Urban Studies(浙江省城市科學研究會），Jiangsu Society for Urban Studies (江蘇省城市科學研究會），Urban Planning Society of Anhui (安徽省城市規劃學會）。 The topic of the speech was "Engineering Digital Smart City". The contents of the speech were well received by all the partcipants in this Forum. There will be huge opportuniies for Hong Kong Consultants and China Local Design Institutes working together to provide engineering services in this region of Smart City Development.

ACEHK Supports 2025 Policy Address for Construction and Infrastructure Advancement

The Association of Consulting Engineers of Hong Kong (ACEHK) welcomes the 2025 Policy Address and fully supports the Government’s strategic direction in advancing Hong Kong’s construction and infrastructure sectors.
We applaud the strategic initiatives outlined to streamline approval processes, enhance project management efficiency, and promote sustainable development, particularly in major initiatives such as the Northern Metropolis and public housing production.
ACEHK also welcomes the introduction of the Action Plan on Developing the Low-altitude Economy, which will drive technological innovation and create new opportunities for the construction and engineering industries. By supporting the adoption of advanced technologies and infrastructure for the low-altitude economy, Hong Kong can strengthen its position as a centre for smart and sustainable urban development.
ACEHK is encouraged by the Government’s efforts to accelerate land and housing supply, simplify statutory procedures, and foster cross-departmental collaboration to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. The integration of digital platforms and innovative technologies, such as AI and BIM, will further enhance productivity, cost control, and quality in the construction industry.
ACEHK also supports the increased allocation of resources to public works projects, which will boost local industry development, create jobs, and contribute to Hong Kong’s long-term prosperity.
We look forward to working closely with Government, industry partners, and stakeholders to implement these policies and collectively build a smarter, greener, and more resilient Hong Kong.
