Pray for China: The dilemma of serving pastors

When church pastors and lay leaders serve side by side, the results can be twice as effective with half the effort. However, when communication within the leadership team breaks down and management systems are inadequate, pastors face significant challenges in teaching and shepherding, often becoming discouraged and disheartened.

Have mercy on the pastors, Lord, and prepare for them a leadership team willing to communicate, along with clear management systems, so that church affairs are not governed by personal preferences.

求主帶領這群初職傳道，把所學的知識轉化為能夠在前線實踐的聖經教導；並求主為他們預備適切的書籍資源，從個案分享、問題分析等材料得到啟迪。

Pray for China: Pastoral challenges facing novice preachers

The Hunan Province is home to diverse ethnic minority communities, presenting significant challenges for novice preachers. The training provided by seminaries may not adequately equip graduates to address the unique pastoral needs of ethnic minority believers.

May the Lord guide these novice preachers to transform their acquired knowledge into practical biblical teachings for the frontline ministry. We also pray that the Lord will provide them with suitable Literature resources, enabling them to gain insights from case studies, problem analyses, and other materials.

求主賜智慧給當地教會牧者，除了闡明聖經中的教導外，更透過持續探訪，耐心地帶領迷途的小羊，在主裡建立穩固的信仰根基。

Pray for China: Guiding believers with patience

Folk beliefs run deep in the Hunan Province, exerting a multifaceted influence on both believers and those interested in the gospel. When faced with adversity, some wavering believers and seekers subconsciously turn to folk beliefs for spiritual solace.

Grant wisdom to the local church pastors, Lord, so that they may not only expound the teachings of Scripture, but also through persistent visits, patiently guide the lost sheep, help them establish a firm foundation of faith in the Lord.

求主為教會預備合適的教材，讓信徒能有系統地一卷書接一卷書地查考，從認識整體結構，到關注經文細節，以及明白經文跟生活的關係。

Pray for China: Helping believers return to His Word

Returning to the Word of God helps believers better live out His calling. However, for many churches in China, leading believers to study all the books of the Bible presents a significant challenge, as they are unsure about where to begin.

May the Lord provide suitable materials for the church, enabling believers to systematically examine one book after another—from grasping the overall structure to focusing on textual details, and understanding how Scripture relates to daily life.

求主為牧者領袖預備合適的老師，除了給予他們在研讀經文的裝備外，同時也教導他們善用小組互動、實踐行動等，豐富信徒的學習體驗，以及積極探索經文在不同處境下的應用。

Pray for China: The Importance of Effective Teachers

Many pastors in churches in China still teach the Bible in a one-way manner, during Sunday services and Bible classes, with believers learning about the Scripture in a passive manner.

May the Lord prepare suitable teachers for pastoral leaders, equipping them with the skills in studying Scripture and also the ability to interact with learners in small groups. May the teachers also be able to help learners put into practice what they have learned, enriching learning experiences, and actively exploring the application of the Scripture in diverse contexts.

求主帶領老師的教導服侍，能使信徒明白神的話語；同時，求主感動更多有心志、潛質的領袖，願意接下教導的棒子。

Pray for China: Passing on Knowledge and More

Learning biblical truths should not remain merely at the level of knowledge; it must also be internalized into one’s personal values. The guidance and reminders provided by teachers throughout this process are crucial. While what a single teacher can accomplish is limited, training more teachers can nurture more believers.

May the Lord guide the teaching ministry of our teachers, enabling them to lead believers to understand God’s Word. Also, may the Lord move more leaders with vision and potential to take up the baton of teaching.

Pray for China: Becoming an ongoing platform for exchanges

Hosting can be a one-time event, but it can also become an ongoing platform for leadership development. Through visits, pastors from China gain firsthand exposure to more biblical teachings and leadership development resources. Upon returning home, some pastors express a desire for continued exchange and support.

May the Lord help the hosting team to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the teaching and nurturing needs of the visiting pastors during their visit, laying a solid foundation for ongoing exchange.

求主賜接待團隊有靈活和彈性，不是只為完成行程上的所有項目，而是懂得在可行的範圍內，配合實況來增、刪或調節。

Pray for China: Allowing for flexibility

A detailed itinerary and program are essential, but flexibility is also crucial to allow room for adjustments based on actual circumstances. For multi-day receptions, midway through the schedule, arrangements can be modified accordingly based on observations and communication.

May the Lord grant the hosting team flexibility and adaptability—not merely to complete every item on the itinerary, but to add, remove, or adjust arrangements as feasible in response to actual circumstances.

接待內地牧者領袖前，都要作事前預備，除了掌握他們來港交流學習的期望外，還需要了解一些基本資料，如年齡層、事奉資歷、城鄉教會之別等，才能為來訪者安排適切他們的接待內容與模式。

求主賜在港的接待團隊智慧，不能一套接待方案「走遍天涯」，在內地牧者領袖到訪前，做好溝通及預備工作。

Pray for China: Each time of hosting is unique

Before hosting pastoral leaders from China, preparation in advance is essential. Beyond understanding their expectations for exchange and learning in Hong Kong, it is also necessary to gather basic information such as age groups, years of ministry experience, and differences between urban and rural churches. This enables the arrangement of receptions tailored to the visitors’ needs.

May the Lord grant wisdom to the hosting team in Hong Kong, for no single reception plan can be universally applied. Ensure thorough communication and preparation before pastors and leaders arrive.

求主帶領當地教會，運用不同的途徑，如社關服侍、營商宣教，來接觸不同語言文化背景的少數民族群體，以他們明白的方式來分享福音。

Pray for China: Reaching out to unbelievers through various means

Guangxi is home to numerous ethnic minorities, housing the vast majority of China’s minority groups. Approximately one-third of its urban population belongs to the Zhuang ethnic group, presenting abundant opportunities to share the gospel with unreached people.

May the Lord guide local churches to utilize diverse approaches, such as community outreach ministries and Business as Mission, to reach out to ethnic minority groups with diverse languages and cultures, and share the gospel in ways they can understand.

The situation regarding heretical groups in Guangxi is severe, yet it is also a province where religious policies are rigorously enforced. Local theological seminaries face significant challenges in training students, particularly due to a lack of exegetical and practical study materials.

May the Lord show mercy and open the way for the book gifting team to prepare appropriate spiritual literature for local seminary graduates. May these resources equip them for frontline pastoral ministry and ongoing biblical teaching.

Pray for China: Adjusting reading modes to enhance Biblical knowledge

People today are inseparable from their phones, and this is equally true in Guangxi. Church pastors are constantly striving to find contextually relevant ways to help believers engage with God’s Word. This includes establishing online Bible study groups where they invite believers to study scripture together and share their thoughts.

May the Lord grant wisdom to pastors in China, that they may adapt Bible reading patterns according to believers’ needs, enabling them to continually absorb the bread of life.
