‘Hands-on Training’ for Church Leaders in China
1st week: From educational resources to nurturing materials

Bible teachers in China are keen to teach the meaning of Scripture clearly and to nurture and equip believers; however, they often feel inadequate, and there is a relative lack of suitable teaching materials in China.

🙏 May the Lord provide Bible teachers with resources for Bible teaching, to help them systematically organise the meaning of the scriptures in the various books of the Bible, along with background information on the books and their relevance to the historical context.

Theme of September 2026: Support for Young Preachers in China
3rd week: May financial hardships not hinder frontline ministry

The congregations in churches in remote rural areas consist mostly of elderly believers with limited means to give; the young preachers serving there receive meager salaries or even serve solely as volunteers.

🙏 May the Lord have mercy on these young preachers, who must shoulder the heavy responsibility of teaching and shepherding while also worrying about providing for their parents, spouses, and children (many of whom are very young). Let us pray that the Lord will strengthen their resolve to serve and provide them with financial support.

2nd week: Companions for the young generation

The younger generation of pastors generally has a higher level of education and access to more resources than in the past, but they need partners and mentors to walk alongside them and build a support network.

🙏 May the Lord provide companions for these young pastors—people with whom they can share their passion for ministry and their challenges—to help them continue on their path of service and protect them from falling into loneliness and burnout.

Theme of September 2026: Support for Young Preachers in China
1st week: Older leaders’ support for young preachers

While young pastors in China see that the small-group model helps deepen teaching and pastoral care, through in-depth discussions and communication among group members, such model has not yet become widespread in churches outside urban areas and may not receive the support of older leaders.

🙏 May the Lord guide older leaders to understand the pastoral benefits of the small-group model and to support young preachers with an attitude of trust in preparing for small group ministry - such as by equipping group leaders and selecting materials.
