由太古地產全力策動及贊助,「婦女展才」計劃於2020年成立,重點推動可持續發展解決方案、 協助本地婦女發展個人潛能,並為她們創造就業機會。
首個推出項目「可重用口罩 + 口罩袋」與6所社福機構合辦(包括香港基督教女青年會、聖雅各福群會、香港基督教服務處、香港盲人輔導會、離島婦聯和SEW MUCH TALENT),製作3萬個可重用口罩,作慈善義賣及送贈予社區上有需要人士。
2021年「婦女展才」再推出「升織」項目,回收去年太古坊的天然羊毛聖誕裝飾清潔消毒,再連繫社區內的鈎織巧手,透過創意延續其使命—將毛冷「升織」成2,000個綠色小擺設,並由太古地產愛心大使快閃太古坊、太古城中心及東薈城名店倉,親手送出「升織」小禮物予區內上班族及居民,進一步向社區傳遞歡樂及太古地產的可持續發展理念。
2022年續推照顧者產品「老友圍裙」,以用家體驗為設計初心,方便照顧老友記外出用膳。產品由本地設計師創
作,採用環保再生布料製作。計劃支持有縫紉技能的婦女展能及就業,推動照顧者友善社區。
「婦女展才」計劃締造平台,讓婦女的潛能及天賦才華,能適時被啟發出來,表達「我們都是才女」的心聲。
Founded by Swire Properties in 2020, “SEWomen” is a social initiative that aims to empower women and help them reach their full potential, by showcasing their talents and expertise and offering them job opportunities. Kick starting “SEWomen” is the “Reusable Mask + Holder” project, a partnership with 7 local charities – Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association, St. James' Settlement, Hong Kong Christian Service, The Hong Kong Society for the Blind, OIWA and SEW MUCH TALENT – to make at least 30,000 reusable face masks for those in need and a charity sale. The next SEWomen initiative is the “Wooly Wonder” project in 2021. Last Christmas, Taikoo Place decorated its office lobbies with Xmas trees made of natural wool. The used wool was collected and disinfected, and the Community Ambassador team connected crochet masters from local communities to upcycle the used wool into 2,000 adorable ‘green’ trinkets which reduces waste and cleans the air. Our Ambassadors then distributed these green trinkets to our office and retail stakeholders at Taikoo Place, Cityplaza and Citygate Outlets, to further its mission to spread joy and promote sustainable living with the community. In 2022, the project launched the “SEW CARE aprons” made by SEWomen. Best suited for the elderly when they dine out, the apron is designed by local designer, and uses recycled materials made in Japan. The project not only create job opportunities but also promote a harmonious community of carers. At the heart of this platform is the drive to inspire through the spirit of “We Are SEWomen”!
