香港心連心於2003年的一場無煙的戰爭-沙士(SARS)一役下催生，當時香港在沙士的陰影籠罩下，人心散渙，百業蕭條，為求振奮人心合力對抗這場百年不遇的瘟疫，一班有心人士四處奔走，聯絡全港各行各業近千家商號及無數中西醫務診所集團，進行各項自發性救港活動，把香港人的心連在一起，而這個自強的運動就名為「香港心連心」。
