Awardees Reunion & Community Service Sharing 🤝

We just hosted an extraordinary event - “Awardees Reunion & Community Service Sharing Session”! 🌟 It was not only an occasion for awardees from past and present to reunite but also a platform for sharing their community service experiences. 🤗

The highlight of the event was the sharing of community service experiences by the awardees. 🌈 They had the opportunity to showcase their projects, initiatives, and the positive changes they brought to their communities. These stories were not only uplifting but also provided valuable insights to the attendees. 🚀

We built strong friendships and a spirit of collaboration among the awardees, finding common ground in their passion for social service. 🙌 By the end of the event, everyone felt inspired and more determined to contribute to society. 💪

Let’s continue on our path of community service and make it even broader! 🛤️

The Orientation Day for the 2021/22 Hong Kong Outstanding Service Award for Tertiary Students is successfully held. Welcome to the family! 🌱✨

We, a group of 31st awardee of the HKOTSSA are dedicated to serving underprivileged SENs students. A series of social service is held during the summer of 2022.

We can’t judge a fish’s ability to climb tree. But Hong Kong, owing to an over-emphasis on the academic result, most parents are only left with the chance to judge their kids by their ability to study. The relationship between Special Educational Needs (SENs) students and their caregivers is therefore strained. In view of this, we organized a series of parent-child bonding activities for the underprivileged SEN families.

To start with, we invited Dr. Florence Wu, a professor from the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Education, to share effective ways to improve the parental skills.

In addition to the online talk, we organized a Parent-Child Yoga Class. Not only did it introduce a mindful experience for the SENs students, but it also strengthened the bonding between the SENs students and their parents. The Parent-Child Yoga Class would not have been a success without the support from Austin School. A big shout out for Austin School for their generous support in lending us yoga mats.

Last but not least, we held a Sand Art Succulent Planter Workshop which allowed the SENs students to realize their artistic potentials.

This series of service enhanced our understanding of SENs children, which empowered us to better serve underprivileged students in future.
