Our final workshop in March featured our EMPOWER cohort visiting Nomura for a financial literacy session hosted by Sheetal Sarup, which left quite an impression.

Here are her three biggest takeaways:

⭐️ Time is your greatest asset. Starting early, even with small amounts, puts compound interest to work in your favour.

⭐️ Stability comes first. Building an emergency fund of three to six months of expenses creates a foundation of calm and confidence.

⭐️ Invest in a way that reflects you. From time deposits to ETFs and equities, the best investment is the one that aligns with your timeline, goals, and personal comfort level.

We know that financial literacy is one of the most powerful tools for building lasting wealth. We also know EMPOWER Workshops like this can open doors for our young women, changing their trajectories.

This is one of the many reflections we’ve heard from EMPOWER scholars who completed the ICF HK coaching sessions, and it captures exactly what this partnership is all about.

The inaugural 2025-2026 EMPOWER by The Amber Foundation and The Hong Kong Chapter of ICF Partnership has officially wrapped up, and what an amazing journey it’s been.

A heartfelt thank you to ICF HK, John Azzo, and May Anne Vergara Bird Anne Bird for making this collaboration possible and to all of the ICF HK coaches who gave their time, skill, and dedication to our students. You didn’t just offer sessions; you helped shape the way these young people see themselves and build their futures.

To our EMPOWER participants, thank you for showing up with such openness and courage. You’re doing the real work of crafting a new path for yourselves, and we’re so proud of you for it.

It’s official, Cohort 8 has graduated!

It was an incredible evening celebrating the achievements of our latest cohort. From the smiles and the infectious energy to the hugs and countless selfies, moments like these remind us why we do what we do.

A huge thank you to Frank Wong for making the introduction that brought us all together and Pohman Lo for sponsoring a truly stunning venue, Alto 88 at the Regal HK Hotel. From the flawless organisation to the exquisite catering, every detail was perfect.

To the entire team at Regal HK Hotel, your dedication and warmth made our young women feel genuinely special. Thank you for going above and beyond to ensure the evening ran seamlessly.
