Hong Kong Union for Young Leaders is a non-profit making, student-based organisation, registered under the Societies Ordinance (REF.CP/LIC/SO/19/10188). Since its establishment in 1992, the Union has aimed to nurture secondary school students who display outstanding leadership potential. Every year, two student representatives from each member school are chosen to participate in the Union’s year-l
ong leadership programmes. Through various activities including seminars, social service projects and camps, they are exposed to recognised leaders in society, offered insights into leadership and empowered to find their own definitions of it. Besides sharpening students’ leadership skills, the Union also aims at developing their awareness of local and global issues, and strives to promote a sense of global citizenship, as well as commitment and dedication to the world community. Moreover, ten of the school representatives will be nominated to participate in the Hugh O’Brian Youth World Leadership Congress, which will be held in Chicago next summer. Excellent young leaders from all over the world will gather for meaningful cultural exchange as well as build international friendships.
