2025-2026年度香港大學電影學會
Film Society, HKU, Session 2025-2026 For us, these stars are the films that show us the endless possibilities of human life.

The theme of the year is Lucida, derived from a Latin origin, represents “the brightest star in a constellation” in astronomy. Just as in the vast expanse of the galaxy, where our lives may sometimes seem obscured, there are in fact numerous stars illuminating the darkness. Lucida - the guiding star radiates light amidst darkness signifies how we can always find solace and comfort in our favourite

films. The Film Society believes that film can be the beacon that casts light upon our life paths, aiding us to build our identities. The world of film is as magnificent as the galaxy, with so many hidden gems being unexplored. The Film Society aspires to engage students to discover more genres and types of films – from newly-rising local films to Hollywood blockbusters to arthouse films. Through wide exposure to such diverse works, one can perhaps find a personal favourite among countless stars. As a society that serves the student body, we also hope to make the society shine like a shimmering star and promote film culture across the campus and even to the world. Our cabinet looks forward to embarking on a cinematic voyage with our fellow schoolmates, where we act as a guide to enable discoveries of the magic of film. The 56th cabinet of the Film Society, HKU will continue in the footsteps of our predecessors, striving to promote film culture in the university and offer various welfare to our members.
