We are delighted to announce 𝐈𝐀𝐀𝐂𝐀 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, taking place in 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬𝐭, 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝐨𝐧 𝟏𝟒 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

💡 Insightful sharing on Impacts of Corruption Education 📖 on Social Culture ☘️ (18 March 2026) at the 5th IAACA Knowledge Nexus Webinar 💡

The fifth session of IAACA Knowledge Nexus Webinar Series – “Impacts of Corruption Education on Social Culture” 🍀 was successfully held in collaboration with the Hong Kong International Academy Against Corruption (HKIAAC) on 18 March 2026. We had attracted over 800 participants from nearly 60 countries and regions🌍 who joined to gain insights into how 📘 integrity education 📙 fosters long-term probity and societal integrity.

Here are some key takeaways from the speakers:

The ICAC Annual survey results actively informed ICAC's education strategies, from shifting focus on social media platforms, to tailoring youth education programmes for addressing higher corruption tolerance among young people. At the same time, Hong Kong’s public continues to uphold strong anti-corruption values and a clear stance of zero tolerance toward corruption.
NTA’s integrity ecosystem model outlines a three-stage approach: raising awareness, encouraging ethical practice, and integrating ethical values across both citizens and institutions. In addition, NTA works collaboratively with civil society organizations and institutions to foster a lasting culture of integrity.
In Kenya, EACC deploys a range of approaches, including public outreach, media education, and school-based programmes such as integrity clubs. These corruption-education initiatives shape social culture by shifting attitudes and perceptions, fostering civic responsibility, and empowering citizens to report corruption.

✨ 𝐈𝐀𝐀𝐂𝐀 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐀𝐏𝐄𝐂 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐳𝐡𝐨𝐮 ✨

IAACA President and ICAC Commissioner, Mr Danny Woo, led a delegation to Guangzhou for the first APEC anti corruption thematic event of the “China Year.” The meetings brought together representatives from nearly all APEC member economies to strengthen regional cooperation in the fight against corruption. 🌏🤝

President Woo underscored ICAC’s commitment to APEC’s priorities of openness, innovation, and cooperation, reaffirming Hong Kong’s role in advancing the Beijing Declaration on Fighting Corruption.

IAACA Deputy Secretary General, Mr Daniel Leung, shared updates on IAACA’s global anti corruption initiatives, including the Knowledge Nexus Webinar Series, Regional Conference and Training Workshop, and the Corruption Risk Management Guide for Prison Systems during the meetings for Anti Corruption Authorities and Law Enforcement Agencies Network and the Anti Corruption and Transparency Experts’ Working Group. These initiatives are designed to build capacity, share knowledge, and foster global cooperation, empowering agencies with practical tools and innovative strategies to confront corruption challenges effectively. 📚✨

The IAACA Secretariat was pleased to host a delegation from the Independent Commission Against Corruption of Papua New Guinea (PNG ICAC) 🇵🇬, led by the esteemed Ret. Justice Don Sawong, Deputy Commissioner - Prevention & Corporate.

The delegation's visit to our Secretariat was a key component of their comprehensive two-day study visit (27-28 January 2026) to the 香港廉政公署 Hong Kong ICAC 🇭🇰🇨🇳.

IAACA Secretary-General, Mr. CK CHEUNG, and Deputy Secretary-General, Mr. Daniel LEUNG, discussed 💬💡 with the delegation on the support of IAACA can offer to anti-corruption agencies and explored strategies for enhancing global cooperation🌍.

Such exchanges underscore IAACA's core mission 🌟 to foster strong partnerships and facilitate the sharing of expertise among anti-corruption agencies worldwide. We remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting our members🤝, like the PNG ICAC, in their vital work.

We're thrilled to report that the landmark IAACA events, including the Executive Committee Meeting, Annual Conference and General Meeting, held in Doha, Qatar 🇶🇦 on 12 - 13 December were a powerful demonstration of global collaboration!

Together with our incredible co-organizers, the Independent Commission Against Corruption, Hong Kong, China (ICAC)🇭🇰🇨🇳 , the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority of Qatar, we welcomed over 250 anti-corruption experts, government officials, and scholars from 80 jurisdictions.

Under the theme “Integrity for the Future: Innovation, Collaboration & Action against Corruption,” our discussions 💬 were focused and forward-looking. We dove deep into:

🤝Building Bridges: Strengthening International Cooperation for a Corruption-Free World🌍
💻 Technology for Integrity: Harnessing Innovation to Combat Corruption
📣 From Awareness to Action: Mobilizing the Public to Act Against Corruption

The energy was incredible🌟, leading to new initiatives on the horizon! We're planning more regional conferences and specialized training sessions to boost global cooperation and capacity building. Stay tuned for more details in the new year!

A special message was delivered from IAACA President and ICAC Commissioner, Mr. Danny Woo. He was unable to join us in person as he remained in Hong Kong to personally oversee the full corruption investigation into a recent tragic fire. The devastating incident is reported to have claimed up to 160 lives and left many families homeless. In his address, he shared how the Hong Kong community is supporting the affected families and highlighted the ICAC's vital role in ensuring a fair Legislative Council election, underscoring Hong Kong's unwavering respect for the rule of law. He extended his heartfelt thanks to Vice President Advocate Andy JL Mothibi for his leadership in hosting several meetings.

This year’s theme, “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity”, calls on us to partner with young people as powerful advocates, raising awareness of corruption’s harms and building a legacy of transparency and ethical leadership.

As the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA), we are inspired by this focus, drawing strength from the Hong Kong Declaration on Strengthening International Cooperation in Preventing and Fighting Corruption – our global pledge to enhance collaboration, capacity building, public engagement, and research to combat corruption more effectively.

With just days away, the countdown is on for the IAACA Annual Conference & General Meeting on 13 December 2025 in Doha, Qatar. Under the theme “Integrity for the Future: Innovation, Collaboration & Action against Corruption”, leaders from around the world will unite to explore strategies that empower youth, foster innovation, and secure a corruption-free tomorrow.
