The Marine Iguana lives on the Galapagos Islands and forages for seaweed, the main staple of its diet. El Nino ocean cycles, oil spills and non-native predators are threatening their existence.

Due to their beauty, Betta Fish are treated like a commodity to be sold versus a living creature deserving of a peaceful and fulfilling life. These fish require a stimulating tank in order to avoid depression. It is said that they come to recognise their caregivers. They are highly intelligent, sentient creatures.

PETA eyewitnesses documented living conditions at more than 100 Petco stores across the country and found filth, sickness, and death for betta fish. Millions...

Seals like cold water and often live near penguins. They are the favourite food of sharks because they have a lot of blubber that keeps them warm. Seals are incredible swimmers; they are the acrobats of the ocean. Seals' diets vary from species to species, though most eat a large amount of fish. Squid, molluscs, crustaceans, shellfish, and krill are also on the menu for some seal species. One standout species is the leopard seal, which hunts and eats penguins, seabirds, and other seals.

Theo found a newt on the weekend. Being an Aquanaut, he carefully observed it and then let it go. Newts only live in clear, clean water. Theo came across this beautiful creature in a stream on top of a mountain in Hong Kong. Look at his colourful belly! Many newts produce toxins in their skin as a defence mechanism against predators. A newt is a type of salamander. A single newt female can produce hundreds of eggs. The cleaner we can keep our waters, streams and ponds the happier newts around the world will be and the more they will thrive!

Oysters can hear the ocean, even though they don't have ears. Oysters are not fish, they are within the shellfish family. Humans are more closely related to fish than shellfish are!

Inside an oyster you can sometimes find a pearl. The invader or foreign material becomes lodged in the oyster causing it irritation. Unable to dislodge the matter through secretions, the oyster covers it with layer upon layer of aragonite (nacre) forming a pearl. In essence, pearl-development is the oyster's way of neutralising a threat.

Oysters are a favourite food within restaurants. Often their shells are extremely beautiful and are consequently collected and admired. Unfortunately, this leads to a decrease in the number of oysters that are left to live within the beauty of their natural surroundings; the ocean!
