Last week our association was invited by Endeavour Environmental Education Foundation Limited (ENEEF) to visit their facility in Sheung Shui, New Territories. ENEEF provides a range of environmental recycling activities such as normal waste collection, food waste aerobic composting and regenerative farming practice.
Other than food waste recycling, ENEEF also establishes a repair centre so that people can bring their electric and electronic appliances for service. This is a very important activity on Circular Economy as will decrease the use of raw materials to manufacture products and as a result reduce greenhouse gas emissions for climate change and at the same time reduce the waste going into landfill.
ACEA will collaborate with ENEEF to organize field trips and workshops to help people in industries and communities to understand how they can make use of the waste to become useful products.

During the past few years I have learnt different kinds of tools for introducing the concept of climate change to different kinds of stakeholders using different kinds of methodologies. Each of those tools is good in its educational area but may not be good enough these days because people needs to know more because climate change is becoming a cruical topic for industries, academics and communities. I think the best ways to let people understand this topics in an overall manner is to collaborate all the tools into a comprehensive set of workshops. Therefore Asia Circular Economy Association would like to call out organizations that provide those tools and knowledge such as Are you climate ready, The Climate Fresk Facilitators Community, Climate Interactive and Project Drawdown for an alliance in our region.
Time is running out and I hope that more people can join to help for the drawdown.

During the past few years, Circular Economy is becoming more recognized in other popular environmental topics such as sustainability and climate change. Therefore, in order to let more people understand the basic concepts and the current trends (e.g. ISO Standard, technologies, certification and measurement) of Circular Economy to expand their knowledge to help achieving benefits in economical, social and environmental in both industry and community aspects, our association has joined force with Business Environment Council 商界環保協會 to organize a series of training classes on Aug 24 & 31

Circular Economy has been around for about 30 years. During these years there have been a lot of innovative solutions and according to the current trend there will be even more development in the near future because of the recent breakthrough in major enablers such as technologies, fundings, policies and measurement. In order to let people understand how these “enablers” can help promote the circular economy to industries, the communities and even each other to commercialize those solutions, Asia Circular Economy Association (ACEA) will host a full-day event on July 7, which includes presentations and workshops, to address those aspects from different stakeholders
This event also serves as the launch event of ACEA, which was established in 2020 but did not have the opportunity to announce their commencement until now because of the COVID 19 virus.

As climate change has a close relationship with circular economy since both topics have can reduce the emission of carbon dioxide. By knowing more about the causes and effects of climate change can help different stakeholders understand how to achieve both the climate targets and circular economy.

Recently some draft documents of ISO Standard for Circular Economy were released for comments and voting. There are a total of six standards in this series which can help organizations to transform their business models by applying the principles and methodologies of Circular Economy in order to achieve the triple bottom line to satisfy various kinds of stakeholders, including the consumers and governments.
ACEA will provide workshops regarding business model and value chain that helps organizations understand more about the requirements of the standards so that they can have an easier time for the transformation to circular business models.
More detail of the workshop will be announced later this month.

Asia Circular Economy Association (ACEA) has teamed up with Business Environmental Council (BEC) to organize a set of two courses (Level I and II) on August 24 and 31, During this set of course you can learn the basic and advance knowledge as well as updated information on the future development of circular economy.
