現今世界瞬息萬變，跨文化交流和理解日益重要。施萬德博士教授（Professor Dr. Gerd Schwandner）與夫人Annette Schwandner博士數十年來身體力行，致力促進國際交流及人才培育。這對熱心教育的德國夫婦早於2007年在 #浸大 設立獎學金，資助本科生前往德國交流學習。近20載以來，這份支持不輟，至今已經惠及逾30名學生。這份慷慨而堅定的善舉，充分體現了他們推動全球公民教育、促進跨文化交流的理念。

As the countdown to the new semester begins, excitement is building across campus! Alongside our incoming students, we are thrilled to welcome four distinguished journalists selected for the 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬.

If you spot a slightly more mature classmate in your lectures, don't worry, they are our new Fellows, stepping away from the fast-paced newsroom for a transformative sabbatical to recharge and study alongside you.

Joining School of Communication this year are:

While they bring years of reporting under their belts, they are just as eager to learn from your perspectives as you are to hear their insider stories. If you see them around, pull up a chair, share a coffee, and start a conversation!

Generously funded by Professor Raymond R Wong, the “Godfather of Hong Kong Journalism”, the PJF@HKBU scheme offers practicing journalists a sabbatical opportunity for academic enrichment at HKBU.

【香港浸會大學冠名教授席2026│馮漢柱基金全人教育教授──黎永亮教授】
「全人教育的核心在於以人為本。我們透過跨學科研究及多元視角去理解『人』，從而構建創新的策略，回應社會的需求，提升人類整體福祉。」

黎永亮教授現任 #浸大 文學及社會科學院院長兼講座教授，其研究主要聚焦於社會科學領域的幾個關鍵議題，特別是關於老年人、移民和少數族裔等弱勢群體的福祉。

黎教授為一位國際學者，獲得加拿大阿爾伯塔省傳統健康學者獎和Killam年度教授獎等榮譽，並獲史丹福大學評為在公共衞生與健康服務領域「全球首2%頂尖科學家」。他的貢獻不限於學術界，他還出任香港老年學協會副主席及安老事務委員會委員，對香港老年人護理和老年學等領域產生深遠影響。

【HKBU Endowed Professorships 2026 | Professor Daniel W.L. Lai, Fung Hon Chu Endowed Professor in Humanics】⠀
“Humanics is really about people. It is about understanding human beings from different perspectives and developing innovative approaches to meet societal needs and enhance human life and well-being.”

Professor Daniel W.L. Lai currently serves as Dean and Chair Professor of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at . His research primarily focuses on critical areas within social sciences, particularly concerning vulnerable populations such as older adults, migrants, and ethnic minorities.

An internationally recognised scholar, Professor Lai received accolades including the Alberta Heritage Health Scholar Award and recognition as the Killam Annual Professor. He has also been recognised by Stanford University as a World’s Top 2% Scientist in the field of public health and health services.

Beyond academia, Professor Lai has made significant contributions to the development of elderly care and gerontology in Hong Kong as he also serves as Vice-President of the Hong Kong Association of Gerontology and as a member of the Elderly Commission.
