Sustainability Trends: What’s New, and What Does the Future Hold?

Finance is not the first place many look to when considering sustainability, but it is a new and growing sustainability trend gaining popularity. The basis of sustainable finance is working with financial services that integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria into their models. Whether they use it when making business decisions, investments, or any other business-related dealings, ESG always plays a pivotal role in the final decision. 

According to me this is a huge step forward as the Investors no longer face a choice between profit and saving the planet, however current ESG measurements lack transparency and are mostly about the internal costs as well as impacts of company operations.

To achieve the goal of more sustainable economic activities and projects, it is critical to have the right ESG data and to employ this data in a transparent and accountable manner. 🌱

We live in a world where a tree is worth more dead than alive.
This needs to be changed, our old habits need to be changed and that change needs to happen now!

These are some changes I’ve made in my life personally.
- use of a period cup and not tampons/ pads.
- Use of washable cloth diapers and not the usual throw away diapers.
- Use of food waste as compost.
- Replace tissues with towels and handkerchiefs

Tell me about some of the changes you have made to live a more conscious way of life. 💚

My inspiration to start my own business. I simply can’t fathom working for someone else for 30 years to only then be given a handshake, a watch, and sent on my merry way to a gravestone stating nothing anyone cares about.

My grandfather was an entrepreneur. My father is an entrepreneur. I don't know how to be any other way. My grandfather had the amazing privilege to go on a trip around the world back in the late 70's. That's the amazing power of entrepreneurs, the freedom, the passion and the ability to do something that you love. I find that inspiring.
