The Council of the Hong Kong St. John Ambulance has appointed Dr. Li Kwok-tung, Donald, GBS, CStJ, JP as its new Chairman, effective 24 June 2026. He will also take on the role of Prior of the St. John Priory of Hong Kong on the same date.

⛪ At the recent St John's Day Service organised by the Priory of England and the Islands at St Paul's Cathedral, The Right Reverend David Morris CStJ delivered a sermon reflecting on service, preparedness and the enduring mission of the Order of St John.

Drawing on the example of St John the Baptist, Bishop David explored how the Order continues to empower communities through first aid, healthcare, education and volunteering around the world. 💚

As we look ahead to the 150th anniversary of the St John Ambulance Association in 2027, the sermon also considered how we can build on our historic foundations to meet the challenges of the future - remaining committed to being "repairers of the breach" and serving humanity with dignity, compassion and purpose. 🌍

John the Baptist (c. 6 BC – c. AD 30) was a Jewish preacher active in the area of the Jordan River in the early first century AD. He is also known as Saint John the Forerunner in Eastern Orthodoxy, Eastern Catholicism, and Oriental Orthodoxy, Saint John the Immerser in the Baptist tradition, and as the prophet Yahya ibn Zakariya in Islam. He is sometimes referred to as John the Baptiser.

Much gratitude to St John Ambulance for their prompt and professional service — expected but still touched. When the patient’s vitals dropped en route, they turned on the siren, speeding while zigzagging through. Much gratitude also to all the drivers who gave way — again expected but still touched.
