May 25 2026: What a fantastic day on the water!

We were proud to host our second local schools regatta in Hong Kong, bringing students from seven schools together through sailing, teamwork and the shared energy that makes this city special.

The smiles, the sportsmanship and the determination on the racecourse were a powerful reminder of why this programme matters.

Sail Onward HK is the product of relentless work by the Hong Kong Dragon Association and the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (RHKYC) Charity Foundation. Welcome to the official page for Sail Onward HK.

We’re a Hong Kong charity with a simple goal: give secondary school students free access to sailing, and everything that comes with it. Boats, coaching, safety support, gear, transport. All covered.

The programme runs at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club’s Middle Island Training Centre, where students commit to two semesters and about 40 sailing days a year. The target for every student is HKSF Level 2, the qualification that allows them to take a boat out independently. For most, it’s their first time on the water.
We started with 18 students. We’re now at 24 and aiming for 48 next year, with a second site in Sai Kung in the pipeline to reach students from the New Territories.

None of this happens without donors and volunteers. If you believe more Hong Kong children should have access to sailing, regardless of their background or school, this is where you can help.
