Digital literacy is often an overlooked issue within the ethnic diversity community in Hong Kong. This year, Caritas Youth and Community Service hosted a digital equality themed event on the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The event included crucial keynote speeches from professionals like the honourable guest Ms.Linda Lam. Informative healthcare resources and AI related game booths.
Caritas Labour Friendly Communities Project held a booth introducing Hospital Authority’s mobile application, HA GO including hands on registration for families. Additionally, informing the public on the increase of medical fees in the HK healthcare and the importance of knowing the nearest District Health Centre. Parents from different ethnic backgrounds found the family feature that allowed them to view their children’s medical records and book appointments with ease to be the most useful information learnt from the event.
Thus, showcasing our belief that by enhancing the accessibility of health information and resources by promoting digital inclusion for everyone is an innovative way to promote health literacy and empowering diversity in the digital age.
