For nine years, refugees in Cox’s Bazar have lived in dependence on humanitarian aid, legally barred from working or building a future. Now, a new assistance model has slashed rations to as little as $7 per month, forcing families into a daily struggle for survival.

Families describe a daily diet limited to rice and wild greens, the inability to afford protein for growing children, and the painful sacrifice of selling food aid to cover urgent medical needs. When humanitarian assistance falls far below minimum requirements, the consequences for the physical and mental health of an already vulnerable population are devastating: https://tinyurl.com/y7nhz4hr

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) warns of deadly conditions in Nabatiyeh, southern Lebanon, and calls for the immediate protection of civilians, medical staff and rescue workers as Israeli attacks continue to hit the governorate.

Pierre Boulet-Desbareau, Doctors Without Borders Emergency Coordinator in Lebanon, said:

“Since the morning of 19 June, 25 people killed and 37 wounded have been brought to Najdeh Al-Shaabiyeh Hospital, many in critical condition. Our team is responding to an influx of patients of all ages, including paramedics wounded during rescue missions.

People are arriving with severe head injuries, heavy bleeding, shrapnel wounds and injuries requiring amputations, while others are believed to remain trapped under rubble as the bombardment continues.

Just yesterday, our teams saw people returning to their towns in Nabatiyeh governorate, searching through the rubble of their destroyed homes. They had gone back hoping it might finally be safe. Instead, many are now once again caught under bombardment.

Search-and-rescue and ambulance teams supported by MSF are unable to reach some of the wounded or evacuate civilians because moving through the area is too dangerous. Responders are also repeatedly being put at risk of coming under Israeli fire while doing their job.

What our teams are describing resembles a death trap. People are caught under heavy shelling, while rescue teams cannot safely reach them. Civilians and first responders must be protected, and unhindered access for rescue teams is urgently needed.”

After being shot by an Israeli naval vessel, Emad lost the use of his hand.

In Gaza, where rehabilitation materials are scarce, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) teams have developed locally adapted hand splints using available materials to help patients regain independence.

For Emad, this simple device has made everyday tasks possible again.

Medical teams should not have to improvise life-changing rehabilitation devices. Essential medical and rehabilitation supplies must be allowed to enter Gaza.

This World Refugee Day, we remember the millions of people who have been forced to leave their homes in search of safety.

For many, reaching safety is only the beginning. Access to protection, education, healthcare and opportunities remains out of reach for far too many people displaced by conflict, violence and persecution.

📢 Attention researchers! The call for abstracts for MSF Scientific Days Asia 2026 has been extended.

We invite abstracts exploring quality of care,
community-based approaches, operational challenges, and innovative solutions from across Asia. This is a space to amplify diverse voices, share practical learning, and help reach communities too often left out of research.
MSF Scientific Days Asia 2026, co-organised by MSF India and MSF Hong Kong, in collaboration with MSF Access Asia Pacific and MSF Korea, and with Saw Swee Hock School Of Public Health at the National University of Singapore as academic partner offers an open and inclusive platform for bold ideas and evidence that can drive real change in healthcare, beyond traditional academic barriers.

There’s still time to submit your abstract and be part of shaping inclusive healthcare innovation.

A snakebite can turn a normal day into a medical emergency within minutes.

In Yemen, many people live and work in areas where venomous snakes are common, but lifesaving treatment is often difficult to access. Delays in care can have devastating consequences.

In 2025, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) treated 671 snakebite cases in Yemen — an 83% increase compared to 2024. As cases continue to rise, prevention, awareness, and access to urgent medical care are critical: https://tinyurl.com/yf3hmkfk

One month into the Ebola disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), infections and deaths continue to rise. But Ebola is not the only emergency.

Even before the outbreak, many people were already struggling to access basic healthcare. Now, Ebola is putting even more pressure on an already fragile health system.

Protecting access to essential healthcare must remain part of the emergency response.

พบกับองค์การแพทย์ไร้พรมแดนในงานประชุมสุดยอดโรคไข้เลือดออก ระดับเอเชีย ครั้งที่ 9 (9th Asia Dengue Summit)

The highest-risk populations are being left behind in dengue R&D.

Pregnant women and children carry the highest risks of severe complications. And they’re routinely excluded from vaccine and therapeutic clinical trials.

Without them included from the start, the tools we design today won’t fit the people who need them most.

To address dengue’s underreporting, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) calls on Southeast Asian health actors, researchers and industry to invest in protocols and products fit for where the need is greatest:
— updated dengue testing algorithms
— address barriers in endemic + non-endemic areas
— rapid diagnostic tests that work in low-resource settings
— reliable finger-prick blood sample testing

Built for where the need is greatest. With the people who need it most in mind.
