💜 A Day of Strength, Hope, and Partnership 💜
The Lotus Cancer Initiative Inc. extends heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the success of “Stories of Strength: Celebrating Survivors”, held in observance of National Cancer Survivors Day.
We thank our cancer survivors for their courage, strength and advocacy.
We especially recognize and thank our major partner and funder, Massy Foundation, whose generous support helped make this meaningful celebration possible. Your commitment to community health, survivorship, and compassionate care continues to make a real difference.
We were also deeply honoured by the presence and support of the Honourable Dr. Frank C. S. Anthony, Minister of Health, who delivered powerful and motivational remarks, reminding us of the importance of cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and survivorship support in Guyana.
We also extend sincere appreciation to Natasha Suliman and Melissa Kumar of Tristar for their sponsorship and details, Mr Peter Assing of Allied Trading Incorporated, Mr Pietro Carlini of Harbour Tugs Guyana Inc. , Cara Lodge for their venue and catering and Mary Ross for the beautiful decor.
Minister of Public Works, Honorable Juan Edghill and the management and staff of the Bharrat Jagdeo Demerara River Bridge for their contribution to a spectacular visual tribute. Where the Bharrat Jagdeo Bridge was illuminated in a brilliant lavender—the universal colour of cancer survivorship. This symbolic tribute stood as a powerful reminder that survivors are seen, honoured, and celebrated. Thanks to Melisa and Raj for the beautiful photos of the bridge.
A special thank you to Vantarock Studio, our digital partner.
Thanks to our special invitees, Juan Edghill Jr.( REO of Region 4), Jean Cristophel of Expertise France, our volunteers, supporters, and well-wishers who contributed in meaningful ways to this event.
To our survivors: your courage inspires us. Your stories remind us why this work matters. Through awareness, screening, compassion, and partnership, we continue to move toward a Guyana where no one faces cancer alone.
💜 Together, we celebrate survivorship. Together, we strengthen hope.
