Hello. I started this page 2 years ago to talk about my work in Africa. It languished. But now I want to focus on a very important project. For the next few weeks I am focusing on gathering money to buy food for friends and families I know in Guinea-Bissau, which has been especially hard hit by the Corona virus in terms of economic effects.

Many people in Bissau make just enough money to buy food today, and have none left to save – they have no reserves. With work at an extreme low there just is no commerce and no means to get money. I am asking for money donations that will be sent to Bissau to buy food there for distribution to needy families.

Please donate to my “Food For Africa” account under Marit Snow Sawyer at Meridian Trust Federal Credit Union in (307-332-3120), or to my GoFundMe page, “Food For Africa”. On May 7 all money donated will be sent to Bissau to my friend and project partner, Alhagie Gajigo, who will buy rice, oil, and other basics and distribute this to needy families he and I know. Alhagie will take photos of recipients, and we will provide you with a summary of money donations in and food donations out shortly after distribution so you can see that your donation was used effectively. If you have questions you can Messenger me at SnowsawAfrica.
