Guam Skate Network is honored to announce that we have been awarded a $24,980 grant from the Guam Economic Development Authority GEDA Qualifying Certificate Community Contribution Grant Program, Series 8.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the GEDA board and staff for approving our application and for trusting us with this vital support. This funding will directly power expanded youth coaching programs, fund the purchase of 30 complete sets of skateboards and safety gear for free community classes, and drive critical repairs at the Dededo and Tamuning skateparks we maintain. All funds are subject to strict grant compliance: every dollar must be spent on approved line items as submitted in the application, any unused funds after the 12-month period will be returned to GEDA, and any unapproved purchases will be repaid from our organization’s reserves. We are proud that after hundreds of volunteer hours from our board and over $30,000 in personal investments by our executive board members over the last two years building GSN from the ground up, GEDA is now rewarding the results we’ve delivered on behalf of Guam’s youth. This grant enables us to finally compensate our local coaches for their dedication, transforming years of unpaid service into sustainable, professional youth programming. Thank you to everyone who is supporting this journey.

Buenas!

We appreciate all who came out to the surf/skate movie night fundraiser. We are pleased to inform you we have the funds to rent the heavy equipment for this park cleanup, however we have not gotten word back from the director of Parks and Recreation on giving us permission to clean the park. We are doing our best to partner with them so we can open Paseo for all who frequent it daily, but some things are out of our control.

Stay tuned for a date, we have a meeting with them scheduled for next week. More to follow.

Typhoon Sinlaku hit Paseo hard. We cleaned up what we could by hand but now after Bavi, we need some heavy equipment.

Guahan Bodyboarders + Guam Skate Network are hosting a Surf & Skate Movie Night to raise funds for heavy equipment rental to restore Paseo Beach Park. A portion also goes to Rota relief. 🙏

We told you we would drop the jam session list a couple days before the event…. Well here it is! Now instead of two days to train on the obstacles, you get TEN!

This year it’s all about the skaters who keep this community alive!

Go skateboarding day 2026 is just around the corner and we at Guam Skate Network are celebrating you! Yes, you, the skateboarder reading this right now.

We will be having some fun, informal jam session style competitions on Sunday, June 21st from 1-5pm at the Dededo Skatepark and are giving away a bunch of money, showing love to the skaters in our community who make these events possible.

Do you think you have the best trick down the 4 stair? Thats 10 minutes on the clock, winner gets $100.

What about the hip? Bank to flat? Those are also $100 Or maybe you’d like some of the secret “first to” category money? You’ll have to come see for yourself!

Either way, we are sure you are going to have a great time. Bring the family, pull up some chairs, a pop-up tent and come hang. There will be a couple food vendors for you all to enjoy and an exclusive Go Skateboarding Day GSN merch drop with art by Jeff Ejan.
