Love Guatemala serves people primarily in the rural village of Magdalena, Guatemala through partnerships in local art, baking and carpentry schools. We identify families who have the ability to gain the skills necessary to provide for their family while also providing for others. The schools provide the social fabric to ensure sustainability and stewardship with support we have provided since 2009

. Whether it’s providing new chicken coops, lettuce gardens, housing, or even selling arts and crafts, our desire is to bring sustainability to local Magdalena families. Dios te bendiga por tu apoyo!

In our special culinary class, we had the privilege of learning how to prepare the traditional Tapado alongside guest chefs from Puerto Barrios, Izabal.

This experience went beyond cooking it was an opportunity for our students to refine their technical skills, embrace cultural heritage, and grow in professionalism and confidence.

In our cooking course, students learned how to prepare a delicious traditional Guatemalan dessert: torejas. ❤

During the class, they followed the step by step process from preparing the bread and properly beating the eggs to making the sweet panela syrup with cinnamon. Beyond learning the technique, they also understood the cultural importance of this dessert in our traditions.

Each recipe was an opportunity to build their skills, creativity, and confidence in the kitchen, showing that traditional recipes can also become opportunities for growth and entrepreneurship. 🙏🎉❤

In our Feeding Center Program, we don’t just serve meals we serve hope. Every plate represents love, care, and an opportunity for our children to grow healthy, strong, and full of dreams bigger than their circumstances. 🎉

But we also believe that transforming a child’s life means transforming an entire family. That is why we launched our Women’s Entrepreneurship Project a space where courageous mothers are learning skills such as cooking, baking, and other trades that allow them to generate income and support their families with dignity.

This project is not just about selling products. It’s about restoring confidence, reminding them that they are capable, and equipping them with tools to build a better future. Every item they sell carries a story of resilience, faith, and hard work. 💪

When you support our feeding program and this entrepreneurship initiative, you are not simply giving temporary help. You are investing in a child’s future and empowering a mother to create sustainable income for her family.
