Το Ταμιείον Θράκης είναι μη κυβερνητικός και μη κερδοσκοπικός Οργανισμός. Ιδρύθηκε το 1994 στην Ξάνθη από Έλληνες πανεπιστημιακούς δασκάλους, καλλιτέχνες, εκπαιδευτικούς, επιχειρηματίες, δημοσιογράφους, πολιτικά πρόσωπα και απλούς πολίτες, οι οποίοι εμπνέονται από το πνεύμα της δημοκρατίας, της ελευθερίας, της ειρήνης και της δημιουργικής συμβίωσης ανθρώπων και πολιτισμών σε εθνικό και διεθνές επί
πεδο.
Το Ταμιείον Θράκης έχει υλοποιήσει έργα υψηλής καινοτομίας, πρωτοπορώντας στην Ελλάδα αλλά και στο διεθνή χώρο.
Έχει καινοτομήσει στην εκπαιδευτική στήριξη μειονοτικών πληθυσμών στη Θράκη, δημιουργώντας και στηρίζοντας από το 1994 τον θεσμό των Φροντιστηρίων Ενισχυτικής Διδασκαλίας για μαθητές προερχόμενους από τη μουσουλμανική μειονότητα της Θράκης.
Έχει εισάγει στον ελλαδικό κι ευρύτερο βαλκανικό – μεσογειακό χώρο τον θεσμό των Διεθνών Θερινών Σχολείων ολιστικής και βιωματικής γνωριμίας με τον ελληνικό πολιτισμό.
Έχει σχεδιάσει και εγκαινιάσει δίκτυα κέντρων εκπαιδευτικής, πολιτιστικής και λοιπής στήριξης ευπαθών κοινωνικών ομάδων στον ελλαδικό χώρο (μειονότητες, μετανάστες, πρόσφυγες, ρομ).
Έχει αναπτύξει καινοτόμο πολιτιστική και εκπαιδευτική διασυνοριακή συνεργασία με φορείς και ιδρύματα χωρών της Βαλκανικής και της Μεσογείου.
Έχει σχεδιάσει και διαμορφώσει πρότυπη ολιστική βιωματική μέθοδο γλωσσικής εκπαίδευσης.
Έχει σχεδιάσει και υλοποιήσει έργα αναπτυξιακής συνεργασίας σε δοκιμαζόμενες χώρες.
Έχει παράγει πλήθος πολιτιστικών και εκπαιδευτικών τηλεοπτικών παραγωγών σε συνεργασία με την κρατική τηλεόραση.
Έχει πραγματοποιήσει ημερίδες και συνέδρια σε όλη την Ελλάδα, για θέματα εκπαίδευσης, πολιτισμού και διαπολιτισμικής επικοινωνίας.
Ειδικότερα, μέχρι σήμερα, έχει πραγματοποιήσει 18 Διεθνή Θερινά Σχολεία και Σεμινάρια, στα οποία έχουν συμμετάσχει και εκπαιδευθεί 4.000 περίπου μαθητές, φοιτητές, νέοι επιστήμονες, και λοιποί συμμετέχοντες από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό.
Για την καινοτόμο αυτή σύζευξη τέχνης και πολιτισμού με την εκπαίδευση, την έρευνα, την επιστήμη και την τεχνολογία, την ανάπτυξη, τη διεθνή συνεργασία και τη διαπολιτισμική επικοινωνία στην Ελλάδα και διεθνώς, έχει θεμελιώσει μακροχρόνια συνεργασία με διεθνείς και ελληνικούς δημόσιους και ιδιωτικούς φορείς, Υπουργεία, Οργανισμούς και Κοινωφελή Ιδρύματα.
Το Ταμιείον Θράκης είναι οργανισμός αναγνωρισμένος από το ελληνικό Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών και μέλος του Ελληνικού Εθνικού Δικτύου του Anna Lindh Foundation. The mission of “TAMIEION THRAKIS” [THRACE TREASURY] is to develop trans-cultural, educational, and scientific cooperation between countries of West Europe, the Balkans, East Mediterranean, and the Middle East. The organization aims to design and support actions for establishing Thrace as a link for cultural dialogue between the aforementioned countries. The main objectives are to promote and exploit the cultural and historical heritage of the local territory, to finance and support research programs in the fields of history, social anthropology, folklore characteristics, ethnology and related subjects, and to encourage transnational cultural, scientific and socio-economic cooperation and friendship with neighbor countries. Some of our main activities include:
• International summer school promoting the Greek language and culture taking place in Thrace and Aegean.
• Teaching of Greek language by the means of arts and culture.
• Creation of infrastructures at the International Educational Centre of Avdira, Thrace.
• Establishing new potentially educational and cultural centers in Greece and abroad.
• Education in the Balkans with the use of new technologie.
• Intercultural dissemination for minorities, immigrants and sensitive social groups.
• Greek culture networks in the Balkans and the Middle East.
• Support of young scientists, artists, and social groups with special needs. Every year since 1994 Thrace Treasury is organizing International Summer Schools for the diffusion and learning of the Greek language and culture by the innovative teaching methods based on experience learning through arts and culture. The organization has years of experience on subjects related to the minorities of Thrace in North-East Greece. Currently Thrace Treasury implemented the following Actions funded by the Greek Ministry of Employment within the framework of Actions for the support of employment with the active participation of the NGOs:
1.Development of innovative strategies for the support of women and children from the Muslim society / population of Thrace (Greece).
2.Development of innovative strategies for the support of women and children from the Rom society / population of Thrace (Greece).
3.Design and operation of a European Trainers' and Educators' Network for the support of cultural Actions and cultural education in Greece and abroad.
4.Development of a framework for the sustainability of cultural NGOs.
5.Development of innovative strategies for the support of young researchers and young from the Muslim and Rom societies / populations of Thrace (Greece).
6.Design and development of International Summer Schools for the Greek language and Culture for young from Greece and abroad.
7.Design and Implementation of International Summer Schools and Schools for immigrants living in Greece.
