GREENLAND Med Project The Mediterranean area suffers from extremely high rates of youth and female unemployment. Who will benefit?

GREENLAND is a project funded by the under the programme, to promote social inclusion and fight against poverty by providing unskilled and underprivileged young people with marketable skills in the Green and Circular Economy. To face this challenge, GREENLAND promotes social inclusion and fight against poverty by providing unskilled and underprivileged young people with marketable skills in the Green and Circular Economy, with the potential to generate thousands of jobs. To reach its objective, the project will create new curricula based on market needs, skills transfer to NEETs and women, media-based training tools, and cultural exchanges among young people. The creation of new employment opportunities will be reinforced by the sector-skills alliances between TVETs and SMEs. Acronym:
GREENLAND
Full title:
GREEN-skiLls for a sustAiNable Development
Thematic objective:
A.3 Promotion of social inclusion and the fight against poverty
Priority:
A.3.1 Professionalization of young people (NEETS) and women
Countries:
Italy, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Palestine, Portugal, Greece

Objective
To increase the employability of NEETs (up to 30 years old) and women (all ages) by providing them with marketable skills and qualifications to prepare them for skill-based occupations within the Green and Circular Economy sectors and reduce skill mismatches in rural areas particularly affected by the climate change

What will be improved? On the environmental side, the project will increase skills for a resource-efficient and inclusive Green Economy that ultimately contributes to combating climate change, reducing the mismatch between the labour market and skills. On the economic side, GREENLAND will support the engagement of NEETs and women to set up enterprises in the Green and Circular Economy sectors. NEETs and women
Local SMEs in the Green and Blue Economy sectors
Regional and local authorities
Technical and Vocational Education and Training institutions (TVET)

Expected achievements
1 e-Learning project platform involving 2,900 NEETs and women
1 entrepreneurial green network
7 long-term action plans
210 national/cross-border traineeships in SMEs operating in the Green and Blue Economy sectors
18 job-shadowing for key staff of policy-making institutions
150 part-time and 150 full-time contracts
20 social employment initiatives by public institutions and civil society organisations

Contribution to policy-making
GREENLAND will support policy-makers in the development of action plans that strengthen the creation of new green jobs for young people. The inclusion of national and local authorities, as well as relevant associated partners, in the development of training activities and profiling tools will contribute to the development of strategies which will be implemented at local level. The key action with a potential high-impact at policy-making level is the job-shadowing experience for key staff of concerned institutions. The project uses European, national and local policies based on youth, employment, agriculture and reduction of poverty as a springboard to increase the efficiency of existing relevant policies.

Mr. PPernice Alessandro (project manager ) had an excellent interview this morning with the expert Ms. Katie Beverley as she was involved in the Design Action Plan for a Circular Economy in Scotland: https://www.pdr-consultancy.com/work/design-for-circular-economy-an-action-plan

It was a real pleasure for us talking to her today.

on 26th of July 2024 during the final event of UPskill+ project. During the seminar we presented the project's results and discussed the opportunities offered by the rural tourism sector, new ideas, and the challenges that territories are facing due to the increase in tourist flows.

The event was an excellent opportunity to reflect on future developments, new projects, and potential synergies between the two Erasmus + projects managed by ARCES, such as Ryta project and UPskill+ project .

Local stakeholders, particularly the Municipality of Monreale , Campofelice di Roccella and Bagheria, attended the seminar and showed great interest for both projects.

The local stakeholders and the three Local Authorities will soon be involved in the Network that ARCES is building locally to promote the results achieved under Ryta project.

Special thanks go to Pernice Alessandro , Simone Marsala and all the participants who made this event pleasant and rich !

See you soon, best

10.06.2024 - On line session - Harnessing preparedness and response to marine pollution in the Black Sea

Mr. Pernice Alessandro on behalf of Arces Collegio Universitario attended a project coordination meeting under the framework of the project Black Sea Sierra (co-funded by the the EU DG-Mare).

Despite the challenges posed by the analysis of surveyed sites in the Black Sea and its lagoons, which are impacted by the Russia-Ukraine conflict, our partners are collaboratively developing a common methodology for sampling and data analysis. This approach ensures accurate identification and management of various compound typologies.

Additionally, we will soon unveil a comprehensive project communication plan to enhance transparency and stakeholder engagement.
