No young person should be left behind! 🧭
Eurodesk is calling on EU policymakers to make youth information a central pillar of the next Erasmus+ Programme.
🇪🇺 While the proposed €40.8 billion budget and simplified framework are promising, only sustained investment in outreach and reliable youth information services such as Eurodesk will ensure that all young people, especially those most at risk of exclusion, can access and benefit from EU opportunities.
The draft Erasmus+ regulation foresees a 30% budget increase, with key changes including the integration of the European Solidarity Corps and two main pillars: learning mobility and capacity building support. Eurodesk welcomes the increased budget and commitment to more accessible opportunities. However, further clarity and strengthened commitment to youth-specific objectives and youth work are needed to ensure youth remains a priority. 📈
Eurodesk is officially recognised as the European youth information network, supporting Erasmus+ and the EU Youth Strategy with 4,031 multipliers, over 2 million young people informed, 272,600 enquiries answered, more than 7,030 events, and 6.2 million social followers. Well-resourced youth information networks are key to building trust and ensuring that EU opportunities are visible and accessible, particularly for those at risk of exclusion. 🤝
Youth information must remain a top priority for Erasmus+. A dedicated youth chapter and earmarked budget of at least 15% are paramount for ensuring inclusion, mobility, and civic engagement for Europe’s next generation.
