JELO6 Project - Previously AJW Welcome to JELO6 Project ATHENS 2026
13-15 May all around the city center:
Exhibitions. Lectures. ATHENS JEWELRY WEEK is a festival.

Workshop

Main exhibition hosted by the Benaki Museum / Pireos 138
For the venues hosting the scheduled sattelite events please stay tuned! It is an institution that creates the space where artists and audiences from the Contemporary Jewelry field can meet and exchange ideas, network and develop future collaborations. The works exhibited during AJW, are not only art pieces that express states of b

eing, provoke discussions and comment on current sociological structures and tendencies, but are also a means to an end. The strong connections that are formed between individuals and groups coming from different cultures, support AJW and become the source for new and progressively, more impactful actions. The organization that was born in 2016 has evolved. This 4th upcoming edition is now open to every active member of the Contemporary Jewelry scene. We invite you to join us and contribute to our creative plans for new approaches, probabilities and proposals that will enhance the emerging artistic attempts in our field.

JELO6 Project 2026
Photo Album, DAY 4: Intersecting Timelines by The Light Factory, Roma 5 design
The exhibition IntersectingTimelines, presented by the Light Factory traces the evolving practices of a group of artists who have developed within the framework of The Light Factory over the years. Rather than following a linear narrative, the exhibition brings together works that mark moments of transition, experimentation, and consolidation — revealing how individual voices take shape through time, material engagement, and lived experience. Each piece reflects a stage in an ongoing process, mapping the artists’ growing confidence, thinking, and visual language.

JELO6 Project 2026
Photo Album, DAY 4: Demitra Ryan-Thomloudis, Huimin Zhang and Sofia PLATINA, .Versus ArtRoom
Within the framework of JELO6 Project 2026, Uni.Versus Art Room has the pleasure and honor of hosting three exceptional practitioners whose work expands our ways of perceiving.
DEMITRA THOMLOUDIS explores the invisible structures that shape our environments and our relationship to them. Working at the intersection of architecture and wearable art, she approaches jewelry as a medium capable of articulating what space leaves unspoken. Architectural systems are translated into forms that can be worn and experienced through the body, inviting a heightened awareness of the relationships that shape perception yet often remain beyond articulation.
HUIMIN ZHANG’s work reflects on notions of value, both literal and metaphorical. She questions how we assign worth — to raw materials, to time, to acts of making and connecting, and ultimately to life itself. Her pieces, at once refined and structurally strong, balance delicate detail with inner resilience. They evoke the subtle exchanges that unfold between people, as well as the internal dialogue between the self and the tenderness that emerges through empathy and reciprocity.
SOFIA BJORKMAN’s objects emerge through a multilayered engagement with the physical realm, while functioning as carriers of thought and experience. Informed by lived interactions and shared narratives, her practice reveals an interesting duality. The forms often appear intricate — as accumulations of impressions and gestures — yet they retain a distinct sense of lightness. This tension is animated by a childlike sense of wonder toward inspiration and its materialization, an enduring curiosity, and a playful, exploratory approach to process.

JELO6 Project 2026
Photo Album, DAY 4: MetaTi? Collective Gallery
MetaTi? Collective Statement: We live in an era of fear, uncertainty, and rapid change. The constant pressure for productivity, information overload, gender-based violence, and our growing disconnection from nature often lead to exhaustion, isolation, and the loss of tenderness and the beauty of life. Within this dystopian landscape, we have created a symbolic garden through our jewelry. Metal flowers — both fragile and resilient — remind us that sensitivity is not weakness but strength. Curves and forms that evoke the female body and reproduction coexist with others that function as tools of boundary-setting and self-protection. Alongside them, flowers made from worn fabrics transform into leafy shelters — spaces for reconnection with the self — while winged forms bloom toward the sky, suggesting the need for freedom, transcendence, and inner elevation. We invite you to enter this inner garden ritualistically, to surrender to the flow, to feel safety and calm, and to reconnect with your innermost self.

JELO6 Project 2026
Photo Album, DAY 3: Line/ Body/ Space by Areti Karabela and Pandelis VlasiouVlasiou . lab
The exhibition ''Line/ Body/ Space'' explores the encounter between two distinct artistic practices through a process of collaborative creation. The works take shape as hybrid forms in which drawing and sculptural construction coexist within a single body.
In the drawings, the human figure appears fragmented and fluid, shaped through gestural lines and strong contrasts of light and shadow. Line operates as the primary tool for constructing the image, producing bodies that exist in a continuous state of transformation.
In the sculptural jewellery pieces, form acquires a hybrid character through the collaboration of the two artists. The heads of the animals are created by the painter, while the bodies are shaped by the sculptor, generating figures that move between pictorial surface and sculptural construction. This encounter produces small hybrid entities in which line gradually becomes volume and structure.
In the cut-paper sculpture, the gesture of drawing is released from the surface and transformed into an organic system of forms that occupies space.
The exhibition proposes form as an open process of transformation, where line, body and material coexist in a continuous state of transition.

JELO6 Project 2026
Photo Album, DAY 3: Two Exhibition by Krama . lab... Tradition + Be Connected with You...
About Tradition: Eight women, contemporary jewelry creators, present personal testaments of memory and experience. Through their work, tradition functions as a living dialogue with the past. Their creations invite the viewer into an introspection, an emotional recall.
About Be Connected with You: This project refers to the essential connection with our own self. Often, in seeking the acceptance of others, we lose touch with our personal needs, the dreams, and the values that define us. Inner connection is not a luxury—it is a necessity. When we are truly connected to ourselves, our relationships gain real meaning, depth, and longevity. This project aims to spark creativity and self-reflection, challenging everyone to discover when and how they experience this personal connection.
