SAVE THE DATE 27/11

For those that did not have the chance to attend our first workshop we have a SECOND one.

Join our free online workshop "Organic Waste and Circularity in My Community"

Organic waste significantly contributes to pollution, landfills, and climate change. Through the COM Project, we aim to transform how students, parents, and teachers engage with organic waste by incorporating innovative education, hands-on training, and gamification.

Building on the success of our first workshop, we’re taking it a step further! In this session, we’ll focus on refining and expanding ideas for our interactive online game, Organic Waste and Circularity in My Community. This game lets participants explore the circular economy by measuring their waste in real time, mapping local waste sources, and discovering sustainable practices.

This follow-up workshop is your opportunity to deepen your impact:

-Share creative ideas for new activities and features.
-Provide feedback on the game development so far.
-Collaborate to make sustainability education even more engaging.🌎✨

Join our free online workshop "Organic Waste and Circularity in My Community"

Organic waste is a major contributor to pollution, landfilling, and climate change. In the COM Project we try to change the way students, parents, and teachers approach organic waste through engaging education, hands-on training, and gamification.

As part of this project, we’re developing an interactive online game, "Organic Waste and Circularity in My Community," where participants can explore the circular economy and learn to reduce their waste impact. With activities like real-time waste measurement and mapping local waste sources, players will gain insights into the value and potential of organic waste.

Join our free online workshop to share your ideas and help make this game even more impactful! Together, we can create a more sustainable future. 🌎✨

🌟 The COM Project is buzzing with energy and progress! IIncommon our partners from Greece recently hosted a workshop where they talked about our project's mission and what we're cooking up.

We're focused on changing the way we deal with food waste. It's a big deal, but we're determined to make a positive impact by finding smarter ways to handle it.

💡 Keep an eye out for more updates as we keep pushing forward with the COM Project. We're on a mission to make a difference, and we'd love for you to be a part of it!

🎉 Over a few months, our Romanian partners Asociatia GAL Napoca Porolissum have successfully organized both face to face events and online meetings!

1️⃣ First, they did online training workshops with the theme: Lifecycle of biological waste. From production to collection through prevention and appropriate use.

The participants had an interactive dialogue, they debated, exchanged ideas and experiences about:
🟢 how to use tools and supporting materials
🟢 the management of bio-waste
🟢 instructions and resources for the activities
🟢 setting time limits for the proposed future activities

2️⃣ The face to face interactions GAL Napoca Porolissum have managed to set up bring an added value on our project.

So, the Outreach and communication events with educators from the LAG territory were a great opportunity to:
🟢 motivate them to propose methods and means for the development of the key aspects of our project
🟢 find the best way to integrate the circular organic management into educational curriculums
🟢 stress the importance of raising awareness within society, public institutions and local stakeholders regarding the circular organic management

🔜 Stay tuned! More about these kind of activities from the other partners are coming soon!

🍲 Everyday is a good day to talk about food waste. It's not only about good meals being thrown away, it is more than that.

💨 Did you know that when food waste decomposes, it emits methane, a greenhouse gas even more potent than carbon dioxide? This contributes significantly to climate change.

🤯 Shockingly, 8-10% of global greenhouse gas emissions stem from food loss and waste. Imagine, over 1 billion tonnes of perfectly good food is wasted every single day worldwide!

✋ It's time for change. Let's adopt mindful consumption habits, reduce waste, and nourish both ourselves and the planet. Together, we can make a difference.

🎉 Today we wish all of you a Happy Global Recycling Day!

♻️ Annually, March 18th is designated as Global Recycling Day to raise understanding of the people about how our environment is harmed due to plastic. The day also raises awareness of recycling as an idea and an important concept.

🦸 This year's theme is . That means we celebrate people and actions that help our planet by recycling. Recycling is very important for a healthy planet.

💚 Our COM team wishes you a great day for recycling, full of care and awareness about the present and future of humanity!

🌽 Ever wondered why perfectly good food often goes to waste? 🤔

Here are some factors, that contribute to food waste:

1⃣️ Insufficient Shopping and Meal Planning:
Impulse purchases and lack of meal planning contribute to excess food that often ends up discarded.

2⃣️ Shopping Environment Influences:
Tempting promotions like "buy one, get one free" encourage over-purchasing, leading to avoidable waste.

3⃣️ Date Label Misunderstandings:
Confusion around "best before" and "use by" dates results in the disposal of edible items.

4⃣️ Aesthetic Preferences:
The emphasis on perfect appearances leads to the rejection of slightly imperfect fruits and vegetables.

5⃣️ Lack of Awareness:
Many individuals are unaware of the environmental, social, and financial impacts of food waste.

Addressing these issues can make a significant impact on reducing food waste. Let's raise awareness and adopt mindful practices! 🌍🤝
