HETiA in the framework of the Hellenic Chips Competence Centre - HCCC, is organizing a two-day Business Delegation to Brussels and imec in Leuven on 10–11 September 2026, bringing together representatives from Greece’s deep-tech and semiconductor ecosystem.

The delegation will include meetings with European institutional stakeholders in Brussels, as well as a dedicated visit to imec headquarters in Leuven.

The initiative aims to strengthen the connection of the Greek deep-tech ecosystem with leading European research, innovation, investment and policy networks, while creating new opportunities for collaboration, technology transfer and future partnerships.

🚀 Greece's Semiconductor Ecosystem in the Spotlight

The latest WIRED Greece feature, "Inside the Greek Clean Room Where Tomorrow's Chips Are Born," explores the progress of Greece's semiconductor ecosystem and the country's growing role in Europe's microelectronics landscape.

The article features Dr. Evangelos Gogolides, Research Director at NCSR "DEMOKRITOS"​ and Executive Board Member of HCCC, who highlights the strategic importance of national research infrastructures in driving innovation, strengthening technology transfer and enhancing Greece's competitiveness in the European semiconductor ecosystem.

It also features Dr. Emmanuel Zervakis, President of the Hellenic Chips Competence Centre - HCCC and HETiA, who discusses the strengths, challenges and future prospects of the Greek semiconductor ecosystem. The 3rd webinar of the aCCCess series will take place on 7 July 2026 at 10:00 CEST, focusing on European Pilot Lines and their collaboration with Chips Competence Centers.

Participants will discover how the FAMES Pilot Line, the euroCDP and the ASTEERICS Chips Competence Center support innovation across the semiconductor value chain — from chip design and silicon validation to industrialisation.

🚀 Over 100 participants joined the HCCC 1st Activation Day, bringing together representatives from industry, academia, research organizations and innovation stakeholders to explore the future of semiconductors and advanced digital technologies in Greece.

The event created a unique environment for collaboration, knowledge exchange and direct engagement with the services, infrastructures and opportunities offered through the Hellenic Chips Competence Centre.

Highlights included:
🔹 Keynote address by Dr. Robert Rudolph, CEO of Switzerland Innovation Park Innovaare
🔹 Access to advanced infrastructures, pilot lines, HPC resources and design tools
🔹 Technology Transfer & Innovation Services
🔹 Skills development and workforce upskilling opportunities
🔹 Business, investment and innovation ecosystem discussions
🔹 40 scheduled one-to-one matchmaking meetings

The strong participation and active engagement throughout the day confirmed the growing momentum of the Greek semiconductor ecosystem and the important role of the HCCC in connecting industry, research and innovation.

Hellenic Chips Competence Centre participated in ITF World 2026 in Antwerp, organized by imec, one of the leading international gatherings dedicated to semiconductors, AI, photonics, sensing technologies and next-generation innovation ecosystems.

Dr. Emmanuel Zervakis, President of the Hellenic Chips Competence Centre and HETiA, participated in ITF World alongside key stakeholders from the international semiconductor, research and deep-tech innovation ecosystem.

How does an idea become reality? On Wednesday, June 24, the Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών - University of Athens will host the seminar “Project Management for Technological Innovation”. The training is organized within the framework of the Hellenic Chips Competence Centre - HCCC and will take place at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) facilities in the center of Athens.

The programme offers a holistic exploration of the process of generating and implementing pioneering ideas, with a strong focus on technological innovation. It emphasizes a systemic approach to innovation, covering the journey from the early stages of an abstract concept to successful project implementation.

Applications for the first cycle of the seminar are open until June 9.
