We express our class and internationalist solidarity with the Bosch workers in Waiblingen, Germany, who demonstrated en masse against the closure of the factory and the hundreds of layoffs planned by the multinational until 2028.

Workers from other Bosch factories and other sectors participated in the mobilization, sending a strong message that strength lies in class struggle and the unity of the working class.

We salute the working class in Italy.The general strike that was organised by unions in solidarity with the Palestinian people and against the terrorist and genocidal state of Israel, was a huge success.

Millions of people poured into the streets of the country's cities condemning Italian's government complicity to the genocide.

The unions under USB demanded to: break ties with Israel, demand the release of our fellow citizens on the global flotilla Sumud and, above all, to put an end to the genocide that's happening in Palestine.

Also, the dockworkers stated that they will block everything until Palestine is free.

We salute dockworkers in Greece, France, Turkey, and other European ports who were on strike yesterday. The common denominator is the confrontation with the war economy, which crushes wages and rights, dismantles working time, and feeds billions into the war machines of NATO and the EU.

Dockworkers declared that the ports will not become launching pads for war! From Piraeus to Genoa, Livorno, and Marseille, dockworkers unite their voices and condemn the criminal assault of the murderous state of Israel against the Global Sumud Flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza. They denounce the dirty machinations of the imperialists for the uprooting of the Palestinian people from their land, aiming to turn Gaza into an American protectorate, undermining every possibility of an independent and viable Palestinian state.

🟥 In particular, yesterday's strike at the COSCO docks in Piraeus continues the message of the general strike of October 1st: the workers will not accept 13-hour workdays and “flexibility.”

🔴 A 13-hour workday means more exploitation, so that money is spared for arms, wars, and deals with the murderous state of Israel. Governments, capitalist parties, and the EU, who deprive us of wages and rights, are the same ones who cover up the genocide and massacre of the Palestinian people.

🟥 We take the baton from the strike of October 1st and escalate our struggle with a new strike against the monstrous 13-hour workday bill, to stop the genocide and to support the Palestinian people.

Solidarity with the Italian working class. We salute the strike that the USB has declared for 22nd of September against the crimes that are committed by the murdering state of Israel against the Palestinian people, which is being enable by the Italian government.

Solidarity to the railway workers of the London Underground and their union RMT. They were on Strike on Friday the 5th of September,demanding wage increases, improved working conditions, shorter working hours, health and safety measures against exhausting work.

They are fighting for basic rights that will protect their lives. They face the same attack that workers around the world face: intensification, exhausting hours, the abolition of rights, a climate of terror and repression.

We express our solidarity to the French workers and their trade unions who on 10th of September are going on strike and mobilising against the new anti-labour attack of the French government.

A plan that provides freeze on pensions and benefits, cuts in public sector jobs, new upheavals in the social security system and unemployment benefits, charging workers with new taxes and increases in health care out of their own pockets, and even abolishing holidays and the 5th week of regular leave.

**Statement of the WFTU Working Youth Committee on International Youth Day*
12 August 2025

The Working Youth Committee of the World Federation of Trade Unions extends its warmest greetings to all young people, to young workers, pupils and students around the world.
We especially salute the hundreds of thousands of young people who, despite the enormous repression, are participating, organizing and leading the international movement of solidarity with the struggling Palestinian people. Those who stand up against the imperialist wars and antagonisms. All young people who are fighting for the right to free , quality education, scientific and vocational training for all. To all those fighting for better working and living conditions, access to culture, sport and affordable decent housing for all.

At the same time, we call on those who have not yet taken this step to follow with us the path of collective struggle and solidarity, against the road individualism and fatalism that the system and its mechanisms project to us, as a the solution to our problems. We call them to join the ranks of the militant trade union movement and fight against the system of exploitation and profits , against the policies of governments that count our lives, needs and dreams as costs.
Especially today when conditions are getting even worse, when alot young people are facing war, poverty, unemployment and the deprivation of fundamental rights such as health care, education and social security. Today that the bourgeoisie’s attack on workers is being stepped up with the implementation of flexible forms of employment and the use of new technology for the benefit of capitalist profits rather than social well-being, this struggle needs to even more straightened!

The WFTU Youth Workers' Committee remains committed to this task so that together with the unions it can help organise, educate and mobilise the new generation of workers. The energy, creativity and determination of youth can give new impetus to the labour movement, to the struggle for a world free of exploitation, inequality and injustice.

We do not take a single step back from our needs !

We salute the people in London who proudly showed their solidarity to the Palestinian people through a massive demonstration!

The arrests confirm the hypocrisy of the bourgeois states, which lately, wearing the "mantle of humanitarianism", declare that they intend to recognize the Palestinian state, while at the same time, they are complicit in the crime committed by the murderous state, they have supported from the beginning the "right" of the murderer and conqueror state to "self-defence" and they continue to have military and economic relations with Israel through their military and other monopolies.
