🌿 SILI-MULI AT THE 2026 MT HAGEN CULTURAL SHOW 🌿

Today, Sili-Muli Singsing Group Inc. was honoured to participate in the 2026 Mt Hagen Cultural Show, bringing our living cultural heritage, traditional bilas, music, dance, storytelling and intergenerational knowledge from Ambolam Village, Temok Clan, Enga Province, to the people of Western Highlands and visitors from across Papua New Guinea and beyond.

We sincerely thank the 2026 Mt Hagen Cultural Show Organising Committee, including Show Manager Pym Mamindi, and Mr Richard Lazarus, Executive Manager of the Western Highlands Provincial Government Division of Commerce, Culture & Tourism, for their assistance, hospitality and commitment to providing a platform for cultural groups to present their heritage.

We particularly appreciate the Show's engagement with Sili-Muli Singsing Group Inc. and the cultural identity and intellectual-property concerns surrounding Sili-Muli. Recognition and respectful treatment of cultural identity are important steps toward building a stronger cultural industry in Papua New Guinea.

Our participation today was made possible through the dedication of our performers, cultural custodians, village-based coordinators, administrators, families and supporters who travelled from Enga and worked together to bring Sili-Muli to the Hagen Show.

🌺 A message to cultural stakeholders across PNG

The experience at Mt Hagen reminds us that cultural festivals are more than entertainment. They are places where living heritage, community identity, traditional knowledge, creativity and cultural rights meet the modern cultural-tourism economy.

At Sili-Muli Singing Group, we cling very much to this concept and we are proud of it. We explore our own resources from the village and understand how we could use our own resources to develop a sustainable and conducive environment for ourselves and our children and their children.
