Invitation and registration for the UNCCD-FAO Land Tenure Webinar Series – 13 -15 April 2026

Dear Civil society representatives,

On behalf of UNCCD, we are pleased to invite you to register for the upcoming UNCCD-FAO regional webinars entitled From Awareness to Action: Accountability for Tenure Security from 13 to 15 April 2026.

At its sixteenth session, the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification adopted a decision which calls for the development of a land tenure toolbox and awareness raising of accountability and grievance mechanisms with the aim of supporting countries in improving tenure security at national and subnational levels.



These webinars will bring together UNCCD and FAO stakeholders, Implementing Agencies of the Global Environment Facility, CSOs, and other interested partners. Invited speakers will focus on the importance of secure land tenure, women’s land rights, and tenure data and indicators, with a special focus on the critical role of accountability and grievance mechanisms in safeguarding human rights and promoting responsible land governance.
