Sitaba Foundation for Development – Iftar Update 🌙

Day 2️⃣ of our Iftar program and it just keeps getting better! Alhamdulillah, today’s Iftar distribution also included water for our beneficiaries, ensuring that those breaking their fast could do so with both food and drink. 🤲🏾

May Allah bless and reward everyone who supported this wonderful initiative of feeding those who are fasting. The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us that whoever feeds a fasting person will receive a reward like theirs, without reducing the reward of the one who fasted.

We sincerely extend our heartfelt appreciation to our very able Chairperson, Ndey Ceesay, for her exemplary leadership and dedication. She personally prepares the meals and facilitates the distribution using her own personal resources, all at no cost to the Foundation. Her generosity, commitment, and spirit of service continue to inspire us all.

Ramadan Hospital Iftar Initiative – Day 1 Report

Date: Day 1 of the Ramadan Iftar Initiative

The Soma Sitaba Foundation successfully conducted Day 1 of the Ramadan Hospital Iftar Program at Soma Regional Hospital. The initiative is aimed at supporting hospital staff, patients, and caregivers during the holy month of Ramadan by providing meals for Iftar.

On the first day of the program, approximately 50 food parcels were distributed to beneficiaries within the hospital. The activity was well received and brought comfort and relief to many individuals observing the fast while receiving or providing care at the hospital.

This initiative was made possible through the generous support and donations of our valued partners and donors. Your contribution played a key role in ensuring that fasting patients, caregivers, and hardworking hospital staff were able to break their fast with dignity.

The program will continue tomorrow and Sunday, Insha’Allah, as the Foundation remains committed to supporting the community during Ramadan.

Report: Soma Sitaba Foundation Ramadan Food Basket Distribution

The Soma Sitaba Foundation successfully conducted its annual Ramadan Food Basket distribution on Sunday, 08 March 2026. This humanitarian initiative forms part of the Foundation’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable families during the holy month of Ramadan. The program has now been organized consistently for the past four years, reflecting the Foundation’s dedication to promoting compassion, solidarity, and community welfare.

This year, 28 families benefited from the initiative. Each beneficiary family received a 25kg bag of rice and D1,000.00 in cash to help support their food needs during Ramadan.

The distribution exercise was carried out smoothly with the support of volunteers and community members who assisted in organizing and preparing the food items for the beneficiaries.

As part of the next phase of this annual Ramadan initiative, the Foundation will organize an Iftar program at the Soma Regional Hospital. Soma Sitaba Foundation Ramadan Food Basket Update

The Executive Committee of the Sitaba Foundation, under the leadership of Ndey Ceesay, convened today, 6th March 2026, at Ramadan Restaurant to review the funds raised for the Ramadan Food Basket initiative and to determine the number of beneficiaries and the distribution plan.

The total cash available for this activity currently stands at D52,000. This amount includes the generous donations received today from Hatab Sanneh (D500), Ya Haddy Saidybah (D1,000), and D3,450 from an anonymous donor in the United States, kindly facilitated through Saikou Darboe.

After careful deliberation, the committee agreed that the distribution will take place on Sunday at 10:00 AM.

Each beneficiary family will receive:
• One (1) bag of 25kg rice, and
• D1,000 in cash support

A total of 20 families have been selected to benefit from this Ramadan support package. The cost of one bag of rice is D900, bringing the estimated total expenditure for the food basket distribution to approximately D38,000.

The remaining balance, together with any additional donations received, will be dedicated to supporting the Sitaba Foundation’s Annual Iftar at Soma Regional Hospital, where meals are provided to patients, caregivers, and hospital staff during the blessed month of Ramadan.

The Sitaba Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to all donors and supporters who have contributed to this noble cause. Your generosity continues to bring relief, dignity, and hope to families in need during this sacred month.

Ramadan is a time of compassion, charity, and community solidarity. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that whoever feeds a fasting person will receive a reward equal to that of the fasting person, without the fasting person’s reward being diminished in the slightest. Supporting families with food during Ramadan ensures that those observing the fast can break it with dignity and nourishment, while also strengthening the spirit of brotherhood and care within our communities.

Donations are still open, and we encourage anyone willing to support this initiative to contribute. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us reach more families and extend the blessings of Ramadan to those who need it most.

May Allah reward all donors abundantly and accept this effort as an act of charity and service to humanity.
