In our collective pursuit to build a safer, more resilient community, we are proud to officially introduce the Tallinding Constituency Disaster Management Task Force (TCDMTF) a grassroots-driven initiative committed to strengthening local capacity in disaster preparedness, prevention, response, and recovery.

The newly unveiled logo symbolizes unity, resilience, and sustainability. At the heart of the emblem are two human figures representing collaboration and inclusivity, flanked by three green leaves symbolizing our deep-rooted commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable recovery.

will as a proactive and structured mechanism designed to anticipate and address local disasters while promoting community engagement, education, and coordinated action. Through this initiative, we aim to empower residents of Tallinding to become active participants in disaster risk reduction and climate resilience.

The heavy rainfall recorded has once again exposed the vulnerability of households across Tallinding, with numerous homes submerged in floodwaters. This incident highlights the growing need for sustainable urban planning, community preparedness, and swift institutional response.

In light of these developments, Tallinding Constituency Youth Committee TCYC has convened an emergency meeting and is taking immediate steps to establish a . This task force will lead efforts in:
1. Rapid assessment and support to affected households
2. Coordination with local authorities for relief
3. Long-term disaster preparedness and resilience building

We extend our solidarity to all affected families and call on all partners, youth-led organizations, and residents of goodwill to support this urgent community effort.

As Chairperson of the Tallinding Constituency Youth Committee TCYC, I take this opportunity to address all young people of our great constituency as we prepare to participate in the upcoming National Youth Parliament-The Gambia 1 (NYP) elections.

This is a crucial moment for us to exercise our democratic rights responsibly and ethically. The future of youth representation lies in our hands and it is our duty to ensure that we elect leaders who are committed, competent, and ready to serve.

Let us not allow personal relations or popularity to cloud our judgment. Instead, let us vote based on vision, dedication, and the capacity to deliver. Leadership should be about service, not self-interest.

I call on all youth to remain peaceful, respectful, and united throughout the process. This election is not a contest of rivalry but a democratic opportunity to shape the future of youth advocacy in Tallinding and across The Gambia.

Let us rise above division.
Let us vote to elect, not to fight.
