🎉 Phase Two Successfully Completed! 🎉

Today, we concluded the second phase of our door-to-door community engagement campaign on Youth Inclusion in Decision-Making under the Youth Promotion Initiative(YPI) Project.

This phase ended with engagements in Jallow K***a and Buiba, where we reached 20 households. Over the past week, the campaign covered 10 communities and engaged a total of 100 households, creating awareness and encouraging dialogue on the importance of youth participation in communities and local decision-making processes.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the households, community members, women, youth, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and local leaders who welcomed us and actively participated in the discussions.

Special thanks to ActionAid International The Gambia and the United NationsPeacebuilding Fund (UNPBF) for supporting this initiative. We also acknowledge and appreciate our fellow YPI partners, Global Platform - The Gambia andActivista The Gambia, for their continued collaboration and commitment to empowering young people.

Day_4 Of Phase Two ✨

Today, our team continued the Door-To-Door Campaign on Youth Inclusion in VDCs, WDCs, and DTs under the YPI Project funded by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund through ActionAid International The Gambia.

Our outreach activities took us to Japineh Mari Koto and Sanu Colley, where we conducted household visits and engaged community members to amplify marginalized voices and promote inclusive participation in local peace and decision-making structures.

During the engagements, we interacted with community members and held meaningful discussions on the importance of inclusive governance and community participation. Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring that women, youth, survivors, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) have a voice and are actively involved in community development and decision-making processes.

Key discussions focused on:

✅ Youth participation in decision-making processes.
✅ Inclusion of women in local governance structures.
✅ Meaningful participation of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in community affairs.
✅ Empowering survivors and strengthening resilient communities.
✅ Promoting unity, peace, and social cohesion within communities.
✅ Migration and combating human trafficking.

Through these household engagements, we continue to encourage communities to support inclusive leadership, active citizenship, and sustainable peacebuilding at the grassroots level.

Together, we remain committed to building stronger, safer, and more inclusive communities where no one is left behind.

Day_3 Of Phase Two ✨

Today, our team continued the Door-To-Door Campaign on Youth Inclusion in VDCs, WDCs, and DTs under the YPI Project funded by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund through ActionAid International The Gambia.

Our outreach activities took us to Jobekunda and Japineh Tenbeto, where we engaged communities through household visits, bantabas, market spaces, and interactive discussions with local youth groups, including the “Getto Boys.”

During the engagements, we met with women at the bantabas and markets to discuss the importance of youth and women inclusion in community decision-making and peacebuilding processes.

Key discussions focused on:
✅ Empowering survivors and strengthening resilient communities.
✅ Promoting unity, peace, and social cohesion within communities.
✅ Youth participation in decision-making processes.
✅ Inclusion of women in local governance structures.
✅ Migration and combating human trafficking.

In both communities, we successfully reached and engaged 10 households each, making a total of 20 households visited during Day Three of Phase Two.

Our team was on the ground in Badumekuta and Badumekoto, engaging households to uplift marginalized voices and encourage families to support youth inclusion in local structures for peace and community development.

Key discussions focused on:
✅ Inclusion of women in decision making process.
✅ Migration and combating irregular migration.
✅ Empowering survivors and promoting their participation in decision-making processes.
✅ Strengthening youth inclusion in building resilient and cohesive communities.

In both communities, we successfully reached 10 households each, making a total of 20 households engaged during Day One of Phase Two.
