Patience Loum is a human rights writer and reporter with four years of experience in journalism. Over the years, she has worked with various media houses ranging from Print to online and has written stories on human rights for women's issues, health, and the Gambia's transitional justice process.
Patience is passionate about human rights issues in the Gambia. Her job also involves fighting for the rights of women and social injustice. And with that, she worked with the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ), reported for Journalist for Human Rights, and attended training conducted by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA). All these, have broadened her skills in human rights and advocacy which she has used in reporting on health matters concerning women, children, and Covid 19 related stories. She is result driven and career-oriented with a penchant for excellence.
And to top it off, Patience has bagged a certificate from USAID and Freedom House on transitional justice and democratic governance, and also a certificate from ForwardUK and Think Young Women on women's rights issues.
