The celebration of the 65th Independence Anniversary of Pakistan in Senegal marked memorable milestone for African Network of Women Entrepreneurs and Investors (ANWEI / RAFEI)’s President Mrs. Ndey Awa Ceesay during her first international engagement in office. She had the honor of being invited by the Honorable Ambassador of Pakistan in Senegal to attend this significant occasion, accompanied by her counterpart from the sister country, (Madam Astou Saho, President of RAFEI Senegal) to represent our network.
The event served as a vibrant platform for diplomatic, cultural and entrepreneurial exchange. Our President engaged with several distinguished dignitaries, including the head of the Gambian delegation, the Ambassador of Pakistan to the Gambia as well as the Ambassadors of Turkey and Rwanda to Senegal.
They were graciously welcomed by Her Excellency, Ambassador of Pakistan in Senegal who opened doors for future collaboration.
The hospitality of the Senegalese people added warmth to the occasion. The President was particularly honored to be welcomed by the Executive Director of RAFEI Senegal representing the African Network of Women Entrepreneurs and Investors (ANWEI). Notably, she is a former Minister of Defense and Women Affairs of Senegal during President Abdoulie Wadda’s regime. Her strong endorsement and support for RAFEI's work reaffirmed the importance of unity and cooperation within the Senegambia region.
This inaugural international engagement was deemed a resounding success not only strengthening diplomatic and entrepreneurial ties but also reinforcing a shared vision of empowering women across Africa through meaningful partnerships.
As RAFEI moves forward, it remains committed to fostering regional integration, enhancing cross-border collaboration and driving inclusive economic growth. The organization looks forward to building more strategic alliances and amplifying the voices of women entrepreneurs across the continent.
