πŸŽ“ ETHICAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP HUB – THE GAMBIA GRADUATES COHORT 5.0

On Saturday, 19th September 2026, the Ethical Youth Leadership Hub – The Gambia (EYLH) successfully celebrated the graduation of its Fifth Cohort following the completion of a six-month Ethical Leadership Training Programme.

The graduation ceremony brought together young leaders, mentors, partners, and distinguished guests to celebrate the achievements of the graduating mentees and reflect on the importance of ethical leadership in building stronger communities and a better society.

The programme also provided an opportunity for prominent young leaders to share their experiences, lessons, challenges, and leadership journeys with the graduating cohort. Their reflections offered valuable inspiration and set a positive tone for the new graduates as they transition from learning to action.

As they embark on this next chapter, the graduates are encouraged to uphold the principles of integrity, accountability, responsibility, service, and ethical leadership in their respective communities and areas of influence.

MEET OUR ESTEEMED GUEST SPEAKER

Mr. Abdoulie Jallow is a Gambian human rights advocate, security professional, and community leader from New Yundum. He currently serves at the University of Education, The Gambia (UEG), as Assistant Programme Coordinator for Community Policing and Security Studies and also as Head of the University Security Unit. He studied at The Gambia College from 2019 to 2022 and is currently a second-year student at the Civil Service University, pursuing a BSc in Peace and Conflict Studies.

Since 2024, Mr. Jallow has served as Country Director of the Internal Human Rights Commission (IHRC), where he engages in promoting awareness and advocacy on human rights issues in The Gambia and beyond. He is also the Country Coordinator of the Centre for Governance and Development (CEFGAD) and serves as Assistant Regional Commissioner II of the North Bank Scout Association, contributing to governance, youth development, leadership, and community service.

Mr. Jallow has undertaken various professional trainings in security, human rights, leadership, governance, and related disciplines. His diverse experience in human rights advocacy, community policing, security, peace and conflict, and youth leadership gives him a practical perspective on ethical leadership. His presentation, β€œHuman Rights and Ethical Leadership: Building a Culture of Justice, Dignity and Accountability,” will explore the importance of justice, human dignity, responsibility, and accountability in building ethical institutions and peaceful communities.

After six months of learning, mentorship, reflection, and personal development, we proudly celebrate our graduating mentees of the Ethical Youth Leadership Hub – The Gambia.

This journey has been more than just a mentorship programme. It has been an opportunity to build confidence, strengthen leadership skills, develop ethical values, and inspire young people to become positive change makers in their communities.

On Sunday, 9th August 2026, the Ethical Youth Leadership Hub- The Gambia in collaboration with Aspiration Youth Foundation successfully conducted a seminar under the theme: β€œThe Role of Young People in Promoting Ethical Leadership in The Gambia.”

The seminar featured an insightful presentation by our guest speaker, Saikou Kawsu Gassama, who spoke extensively on β€œThe Role of Young People in Promoting Ethical Policymaking for Good Governance in The Gambia.” He shared practical examples of how young people can influence decision-makers and contribute to meaningful actions on issues affecting the lives and well-being of Gambians.

The seminar also provided Cohort 5 mentees with an opportunity to present their mandatory projects to the audience. The presentations covered various issues and lessons gained throughout their six-month training programme, demonstrating their growing knowledge, confidence, and commitment to ethical leadership.

At Ethical Youth Leadership Hub- The Gambia, we remain committed to nurturing a generation of responsible, principled, and visionary young leaders. We will continue investing in young people and creating platforms where they can learn, lead, and contribute to building a better Gambia.
