Welfare Trust Foundation Soliciting Support to get Borehole for Fula Bantang

Every day, women and children in Fula Bantang lower buckets into a well 38–40 metres deep just to fetch water. The climb, the strain, and the risk are constant. And after all that effort, the water is still not clean.

If the people of Fula Bantang gets a Borehole, they will drink clean water.

With safe water, the village can expand its gardens closer to home, women can spend less time struggling, and children can spend more time learning.

Slogan:
“Safe Water, Safe Lives, Safe Fula Bantang.”

Your support can turn a 40-metre struggle into a future of dignity and growth. Let’s dig deep together—for Fula Bantang, for safety, for life.

The Welfare Trust Foundation a beacon of social progress in The Gambia

The Welfare Trust Foundation, under the leadership of Mr. Lamin Gibba, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President, has reaffirmed its dedication to empowering communities and ensuring that the most at-risk populations are not neglected through its comprehensive humanitarian outreach program, which provides vital resources to hundreds of individuals nationwide.

Mr. Gibba, who has over ten (10) years of experience in social work focused on aiding vulnerable communities throughout The Gambia, has positioned the foundation as a beacon of social advancement in the country, where essential supplies such as high-quality mattresses, rice (50kgs each), cooking oil (5 liters each), and footballs, among other items, are distributed to those in need.

According to Mr. Gibba, the Welfare Trust Foundation was established in 2021, with its primary office located in Brikama, West Coast Region (WCR). The foundation has consistently aimed to alleviate hardship and poverty by continually offering support to vulnerable groups across the nation.

In January of this year, the Welfare Trust Foundation expanded its support to the community of Bugeling village in Foni by providing a borehole and a Quranic Recitation Centre in Babylon, situated in the West Coast Region, which accommodates one hundred and sixty (160) students, including thirty (30) orphans who have benefited from the donation of two (2) bulls, sixty (60) mattresses, fifteen (15) bags of rice and a month's supply of cooking oil, as reported by Mr. Gibba.

In addition to the initiatives in WCR, a village named Basori, located in the Kombo East District, received one (1) bull, as did a community in Brikama known as Daihairu.

At the Galenmander Quranic Recitation Centre located in Bansang, within the Central River Region (CRR), which accommodates one hundred and thirty-six (136) students, including eleven (11) orphans, a donation was made comprising twenty-five (25) bags of rice, twelve (12) gallons of cooking oil, forty-eight (48) mattresses, and one (1) bull.

Additionally, Mr. Gibba noted that a total of twenty (20) orphans and three (3) individuals with disabilities residing in the village of Galenmander received a reasonable cash allowance.

In Sukurukunda, also situated in CRR, Mr. Gibba reported that thirty-eight (38) mattresses were donated to the Quranic Recitation Centre, which serves a total of seventy-five (75) students, including three (3) orphans.

As he stated, in Basse, located in the Upper River Region (URR), fifty (50) of the most underprivileged compound heads were each given a bag of rice.

Mr. Gibba mentioned that throughout the contributions, "we provided sixty (60) footballs to various locations, and eight (8) orphans from different families received significant cash amounts."

The Welfare Trust Foundation, represented by Mehmet Akif Basalan, along with his wife Fatim Yasar and Yusuf, are significant benefactors. They both conveyed their gratitude towards Mr. Gibba, expressing their appreciation for the outstanding work he is doing.
