We are pleased to inform UYSG members that the Union of Students of the Southern Provinces of Morocco organized an international conference at the World Social Forum under the theme, Women at the Heart of a Just and Sustainable Future: Equality, Leadership and Global Solidarity.

Our Communication Officer, Isatou Sanyang proudly represented UYSG as a panelist, sharing insights on female leadership and entrepreneurship in the university setting and the need to empower young women to lead and innovate.

Meanwhile, UYSG strengthened international cooperation by signing a partnership agreement with the Moroccan Students’ Union in Benin today, opening opportunities for collaboration and youth empowerment.

The journey begins 🚐🌍

Right now we’re on the road to Cotonou, Benin for the Global Convergent as part of the CGLTE-OA Caravan: Struggles for Land, Water and Peasant Seed of West Africa.

Across West Africa, our land, water, and seeds are under pressure. This Caravan is our space to stand together, share stories, and demand better.

What we’re carrying from Gambia:
Land rights: Protecting community access to land from corporate grabs and unjust policies
Food sovereignty: Putting peasant farmers and local seeds at the center of our food systems
Common resources: Defending water, forests, and biodiversity for people, not profit
Environmental justice + socio-economic equity: Making sure no Gambian community is left behind in the climate and development conversation

We’re heading to Cotonou to listen, learn, and amplify the Gambian voice in this regional fight. Because what happens to land in one country affects food and water for all of us.

Follow the journey. Stand with us.

Say Our Land Our Future
