Niumi Berending was once one of the hotspots for illegal logging. Following the intervention of the Village Development Committee (VDC), the practice was brought under control for some time. Unfortunately, illegal logging has started again.

We call on all community members and stakeholders to work together to combat deforestation and protect our environment for present and future generations.

Berending Climate Action strongly condemns this illegal activity. Anyone found engaging in illegal logging will be reported to, or handed over to, the relevant authorities. Together, we can protect our forests.
