PABHSI HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE

CHAMOI BUNDA – THE GAMBIA

The President Adama Barrow Humanitarian Support Initiative (PABHSI) continues to support communities affected by disasters across The Gambia.

As part of ongoing relief efforts, Hon. Mfamara Sabally, Honourable National Assembly Member for Wuli West, donated 10 bags of rice to families affected by the recent disaster in Chamoi Bunda.

Hon. Sabally, accompanied by Jarrandi Jabbi, was received by the Alkalo of Chamoi Bunda, Ebrima Touray, VDC representative Ousman Samasa, and members of the affected community.

The donation provides immediate food assistance to affected households as they continue to recover from the impact of the disaster.

Community members expressed their appreciation for the support and for standing with families during this difficult period.

The President Adama Barrow Humanitarian Support Initiative (PABHSI) appreciates every individual, community leader, institution, and partner contributing to humanitarian relief and recovery efforts across The Gambia.

African Relief and Community Development ARCD Strengthens Partnership with the Office of the President of The Gambia.

Banjul, The Gambia – African Relief and Community Development Team paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the President as part of its continued commitment to strengthening humanitarian partnerships and advancing sustainable development initiatives across Africa.

The delegation held a series of high-level engagements with His Excellency President Adama Barrow, the Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, Hon. Seedy S.K. Njie, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Member of Parliament for URR.

The purpose of the visit was to provide an update on the humanitarian work and development programs being implemented by African Relief across The Gambia and Africa. The delegation highlighted the organization's impact in areas such as humanitarian assistance, access to clean water, healthcare, education, food security, youth empowerment, and community development.

A key highlight of the discussions was African Relief's plan to build, establish and strengthen its regional office here in The Gambia, which will enhance coordination of humanitarian programs and expand its reach throughout West Africa. Both parties explored opportunities for strategic partnerships that would accelerate community development and improve the lives of vulnerable populations.

The delegation also introduced the President Adama Barrow Humanitarian Support Initiative (PABHSI) as a platform built for collaboration on projects that promote sustainable development, social welfare, environmental protection, youth empowerment, and emergency humanitarian response across The Gambia.

During the meeting, President Adama Barrow commended African Relief and Community Development for its outstanding humanitarian contributions across the Gambia and African continent. He expressed appreciation for the organization's dedication to improving the lives of vulnerable communities and encouraged the team to continue expanding its impact through innovative and sustainable development initiatives.

The President reaffirmed the importance of partnerships between governments, humanitarian organizations, and development partners in addressing poverty, improving access to essential services, and creating opportunities for future generations. He welcomed continued collaboration with African Relief through initiatives that align with The Gambia's national development priorities.

The Chief of Staff echoed the President's remarks, praising African Relief's commitment to humanitarian service and encouraging the organization to deepen its engagement with communities across Africa. He emphasized that collaborative partnerships are essential to delivering lasting solutions and improving the well-being of citizens.

The delegation led by Mr. Demba Hydara and Executive Director of ARCD Alhaji Camara also expressed its appreciation for the opportunity to engage with the Government of The Gambia and welcomed the appointment of a Gambian representative within African Relief's leadership, describing it as an important step toward strengthening regional coordination and ensuring greater local participation in the organization's humanitarian mission.

Hon. Seedy Njie, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Member of Parliament for URR, focused on the role of legislative leadership in supporting humanitarian and community development programs. He welcomed African Relief's presence in The Gambia and encouraged stronger collaboration with government institutions, local communities, and development partners to maximize the impact of humanitarian interventions.

The visit concluded with a shared commitment to deepen cooperation between African Relief and Community Development, the Government of The Gambia, and the President Adama Barrow Humanitarian Support Initiative (PABHSI). Both parties reaffirmed their dedication to promoting sustainable development, empowering communities, and improving the quality of life for people across The Gambia and the wider African continent.

The engagement marks another important step toward building lasting partnerships that place humanitarian service, community empowerment, and inclusive development at the center of Africa's future.

President Adama Barrow Humanitarian Support Initiative

The President Adama Barrow Humanitarian Support Initiative (PABHSI) is a humanitarian and community development initiative dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable individuals and strengthening communities across The Gambia. Guided by the principles of compassion, inclusion, and sustainable development, the initiative works to empower citizens through access to education, healthcare, social welfare, food security, water, agricultural development, environmental protection, and economic opportunities.

PABHSI serves as a platform for mobilizing partnerships between local and international government institutions, the private sector, civil society organizations, development partners, and communities to address pressing social challenges and promote national unity in human capital transformation.
