When adolescents cannot access accurate reproductive health information at school, they often turn to friends, social media, or unverified sources that may spread harmful misinformation.

Comprehensive reproductive health education led by trained male and female teachers helps students:

โœ” Understand their changing bodies.
โœ” Prevent sexually transmitted infections.
โœ” Reduce unintended pregnancies.
โœ” Learn about consent and healthy relationships.
โœ” Build confidence and self-esteem.

Knowledge is empowerment. Every young person deserves access to accurate information that helps them thrive.

World ๐ŸŒ Environment Day 2026
Theme: "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future."

At Girls' Pride Gambia, we recognize that menstrual health and environmental sustainability go hand in hand. Every year, millions of single-use sanitary pads contribute to plastic pollution, harming our environment, waterways, marine life, and communities.

By promoting reusable, eco-friendly sanitary pads, period underwear, and sustainable menstrual health education, we are helping to reduce menstrual waste, protect our planet, and create a healthier future for women and girls.

This World Environment Day, let's be inspired by nature to make sustainable choices that protect our climate and ensure an equitable future for generations to come.

Today, we celebrate Menstrual ๐ŸฉธHygiene Day 2026!

This yearโ€™s theme, "A Period Friendly World," calls on all of us to build a future where menstruation is never a barrier to education, health, dignity, or equal opportunities.

Together, we can break the silence, challenge stigma, end period poverty, and create inclusive spaces where every girl, woman, and person who menstruates can thrive with confidence and pride.

As part of the Project Coordination Committee (PCC) for the Comprehensive Health Education Scale-up (CHES) Project, implemented by CRAWAH and the University of The Gambia with funding from IDRC, our CEO recently took part in a 5-day capacity building training on Data Driven Decision-Making, facilitated by the CIFAL-Banjul team.

The training strengthened her knowledge and skills in:

๐Ÿ“Š Research
๐Ÿ“ˆ Research Data analysis using SPSS and Microsoft Excel
๐Ÿ“‹ Data Planning, Monitoring, and Reporting
๐Ÿ’ก Turning Research Findings into Practical Decisions, Actions, and Policies

With this added expertise, she is now even better equipped to support our work in designing and implementing evidence-based programmes and projects grounded in research.

Together as a team, we will continue to ensure our interventions are informed by data and focused on creating meaningful impact in The Gambia.

Too many girls and young women struggle silently with menstrual health challenges because they lack accurate information and access to care.

Through our school and community-based Menstrual Health & Hygiene Management sessions, girls are learning how to track their menstrual cycles๐Ÿฉธ, recognize abnormalities and warning signs, and take charge of their health.

To ensure continued support, our nurses, midwives, and reproductive health specialists provide FREE online counselling and consultation services for girls facing:

๐Ÿ’ข Severe menstrual cramps
๐Ÿ’ข Prolonged bleeding
๐Ÿ’ข Recurrent urogenital infections
๐Ÿ’ข Other reproductive health concerns

Because every girl deserves care โค๏ธ, dignity, and support.
