Outcome of the Presentation with ECOMANSA Students – UTG
Today’s interaction with the ECOMANSA students of the University of The Gambia (UTG) was engaging, inspiring, and highly rewarding. The session brought together 19 participants, including 5 members from the Finance Leadership Forum (FLF), all united by a shared interest in personal growth, leadership, and responsible career development.
The event featured three thought-provoking presentations delivered by Ebrima Sawaneh, Ramatoulie Nyang, and Momodou S. Fatty. Each speaker shared practical experiences and insights around career management, women in leadership, and ESG and sustainability, helping students connect classroom learning with real-world expectations.
Discussions around career management encouraged students to think early about their career paths, build relevant skills, and seek mentorship. The presentation on women in leadership sparked meaningful conversations on inclusion, confidence, and the importance of creating space for women to lead. The session on ESG and sustainability introduced students to how environmental, social, and governance principles are increasingly shaping business decisions and professional opportunities.
The conversation was further enriched by reflections from Babucarr Jarjusey, a Finance Leadership Forum member and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He shared that he wished he had access to similar guidance at a much earlier stage of his career, noting how such exposure can make a lasting difference in shaping professional choices and leadership mindset.
Overall, the session was interactive and encouraging, leaving students feeling more informed, motivated, and confident about their future. It reinforced the value of early career guidance, inclusive leadership, and sustainability awareness, while strengthening the connection between students and professionals willing to share their journeys.
